The board is sturdily made from solid oak with a board backing. The numbers slide in from the side of the board and it comes with 11 numbers though more could easily be made. There are just a few old woodworm holes to the backing board which I have treated just in case. There is an old plaque to the base of the back which reads: Lower Froyle Hampshire Wesleyan Methodist Church- To the glory of God and to remember the faithful ones who have loved him in this place of worship- Sing unto the Lord- E. The carving is beautifully executed with good detail. They depict acanthus leaves and fruit with a sinuous twisting central stem. Both are in excellent condition with a varnished finish. Total Height is a little under 20½" 52cm) x 7" 18cm) wide. They are surprisingly thick with the edges measuring 15mm. Rolling Library Ladder Solid Oak Nice
Selling a used College Library Ladder. The ladder is a 11'4" tall ladder with 12" wide solid oak wood. This ladder was designed to side roll perpendicular to the wall with the side without the handrail next to the wall and the side with the handrail on the outside from the wall. This ladder was obtained away from its original location and not hooked up to its rail system. I Mention this because I have never had or used it in its original rolling rail system. All the mechanism is there and seems to be working with the rolling release cord in place. Overall the ladder is in excellent condition. All the oak is in very good shape and it has been in dry barn storage since we obtained it. The rail mechanism at the top could be easily removed if you wanted to use it as as loft of ship ladder.
