Exceptional Old Paris porcelain urn topped by reclining Turkish figure
This important Old Paris porcelain piece is good example of the high level of craftmanship achieved by the French porcelain industry during the 19th century. The modelling in biscuit of the sultan that serves as finial is simply magnificent. From the movement of his clothes to the majestic mien. The 3-dimensional effect of the sultan figure overflowing the mouth of the ewer/urn is stunning. Under the figure, the glazed body with gilded garlands and high relief leaves and fruit complement the piece, and makes one wonder: Sculpture or domestic ware? Although the piece is in good condition generally speaking. There are some problem areas that must be mentioned. Meissen Pate Sur Pate Potpourri Urn Vase 20" tall
Georgeous Meissen Pate Sur Pate Potpourri with lid! As you can see from the pictures this peice in great condtion with the only flaw I can find being the piece of the top rim that was broken off at some point and reglued or repaired most likely by my grandmother using elmers glue. This can be seen in both pictures of the top rim of the potpourri. Please contact me if you need more pictures of this area or any other. I am happy provide more pictures and answer any questions. The bottom is etched with either L32/ or L321. and stamped with the number 20. The Meissen symbol is also quite prominent in the bottom. If there are other markings or stamps I can't see them. This Potpourri stands 20" tall with lid on and 9.25" tall with lid off and is approx. 20" around at it's widest point. The color is vivid and I can see no ... morecracks in the glaze. Breaks or chips other than the one mentioned and shown in the pictures. This peice was displayed in a china cabinet in my grandmother's smoke free home out of the sun. The history I have on this peice is that it was purchased in Germany at the end of World War II by my grandmother who was stationed there with my grandfather and my father. My grandmother just past away at 96. There is no questions this peice is authentic. I am not an expert. But I do know it's history and have been told that because of this history there's not doubt of it's authenticity. I believe it was produced in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I have not been able to track down a ton of information but have found another similar Potpourri that sold a couple of years ago that was cracked in couple of places. That sale has been the only help I have had in pricing. This beautiful Pate sur Pate piece with Putti with blue back ground and gold fired accents will be a wonderful addition to any avid Meissen collectors collection. The one side is painted with two lovers in a scenic background and the other side is a floral painting.These urns have removable handles and rim(one piece) The handles and base are brass. These are handpainted and artist signed on both urns by the same signature. The condition of these urns are really very good. One urn the lid has been repaired as you see in photo 8& 9, and photo 10 shows wear marks from the movement of the handle, they are very old. The base of the plaque is impressed, AF/ L" embossed below is a large, O" The well of the round turquoise bowl is decorated with a garden pastoral scene of two lovers dancing and is signed“Fragonard” lower left; the high turquoise sides of the interior of the bowl are decorated with a repeating concentric c-scroll gilt design and the rim has a gilt edge. It is raised on a tripartite c-scroll bronze frame with pierced rocaille cast foot having a center porcelain plaque decorated with floral bouquet and foliage ... morewithin a turquoise border. Dimensions: 10 inches in diameter x 7 ¼ inches high(bowl 9 inches in diameter) Near excellent vintage condition with only one minor flaw where the bowl is attached around its bottom edge to the frame. Antique Old Paris Portrait Vase Children Hand Painted Large Grape Vine Handles
This is an antique Old Paris portrait vase with pictures of children on the front. It has two vine type handles and the vase is etched with floral decorations as well. It measures 18 3/4" tall x 13" across at the widest flare and 6" in diameter at the base. It does have some paint loss. Mostly on the back. It is in very good condition otherwise, no chips, cracks or repair. There is no markings, but it is definately Old Paris. It is listed in my store. Circa 1804-1814 This beautiful pair of neo-classical urns depict Napoleon on two different battlefields with his troops. Paintings of Napoleon in situ decorate the front. Landscape paintings of the battlefields decorate the back. The bodies of the urns are a very deep sage green with ornate gilding. The paintings on the front and back of the urns are framed with gilded borders. The urns are further decorated with raised gilded ... morelozenges. Tassels and laurel leaves, symbols of victory. The cylindrical bodies taper down to a rounded raised foot. Finished with a gilt and then a raised white beaded band. The foot then rests on a raised, square pedestal. The Sevres factory was founded in 1738 by Louis XIV. At the time of the manufacture of these vases. It was run by Alexandre Broginiart. This extraodinary example of historicism in the neo-classical style would make a great addition to fine collection of Sevres or for a collector of historical objects related to Napoleonic history. Pr 19th C. Marked French Chinese Export? Style Covered Urns EDME Samson& Cie? This is a beautiful pair of antique French signed old Chantilly. Or chinese export? style covered urns. They measure 10" high, and 4 1/2" across at widest. They are both marked on their bottoms with a red trumpet mark and"Made in France" and have old paper labels, which I cannot make out, but have pencil markings on. They are both in excellent condition with no chips, or cracks. I think these date to about 1880-1900, and are just wonderful. They are all hand painted, no transfer. From the limited research I could do, the mark is a 19th C. Edme Samson& Cie of Chantilly France, started in 1845 and was known for making accurate reproductions of early porcelain, including chinese export. The only other mark like this is a mark for Roland ... moreVuichon, but with a tree included in the mark, but these are much earlier, he worked from the 50's-90's. 19th CENTURY SEVRES HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN& ORMOLU LIDDED'ROMANCE' PORTRAIT URNS Measure approximately 13" high by 4 1/2" wide Beautifully hand painted'romance' portraits on each vase on one side and a floral display on the medallions on the other side. Excellent original condition. It does appear that there is one very small piece of metal missing out of the rim of one of the urns(see last close-up photo) but because of the style of the rim it is difficult to detect. These appear to be unsigned. With the ormolu bases. Which I have not attempted to remove, sometimes the signature is covered up but I cannot see any signs of a mark.

Vintage Porcelain Cabinet Portrait Vase Urn Exquisite RV Mold
This exquisite piece is 10 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" wide at either the side handles or at the ends of the protruding lion's heads. The cartouche portrait(polychrome? is of a beautiful young woman in pastoral Austrian garb. This cobalt blue vase shows generous gold gilt(minor rubbing) detailing and solid gold accents as in the amazingly well done lion heads. This cabinet vase/urn has a removable top-as shown in the photos-and both the top and body are in VG condition with no cracks. Chips, or nicks. Following my personal research I believe this to be from the post Royal Vienna(The Imperial and Royal Porcelain Factory) closure. These moulds were purchased by Ernst Whaliss and were utilized by him. His sons and colleagues to continue these exquisite cabinet pieces. The watermarks are worn but appear to absolutely be genuine-with clearly ... morean absence of fraudulent over apparent(underglaze or otherwise) marks. There is an imprinted underglaze number 5773 and a gold painted roman numeral VI or six. These marks are consistent with a Royal Vienna porcelain centerpiece currently on ebay. I am not an antique dealer and am not capable of authenticating the above(other than allowing the photos to testify in beauty and veracity) nor am I situated to offer refunds. I can tell you that this was from the estate of Captain Nathan Woodworth Post. A US Naval flagship commander in the teens, twenties and thirties as well as being a two term Military Governor of US Samoa. They measure 9-3/4" high to the top of the floral lid finials. And appear to made of a light pearlware type pottery or similar. The have four scrolled feet and elaborate gilt scrollwork framing hand painted scenes on each of the four sides. Three of the scenes are landscapes. The fourth panel on each have similar scenes of a courting couple. The necks of the urns and the rims of the lids are hand pierced. They are marked on the bottoms with the gold 6-spoke mark shown below. Dating to 1746- 1796: Condition: One urn hs been broken and repaired around the bottom. See pictures. 19th century hand painted two-handled bisque compote with decor of blackberries
Late 19th century bisque porcelain two-handled compote or cup hand-painted with motif of blackberries and leaves. The cup stands on a square base measuring 3 inches by 3 inches. A stem rises from this base to the circular cup or bowl on either side of which are handles pained in a pale lavender tone. The front of the cup is adorned with a motif of blackberries. Leaves, vines and berry blossoms against a lilac and pale yellow background. The rear of the cup also has a smaller motif of three blackberries surrounded by pale green leaves, three white blossoms and vines also against a pale lilac and yellow ground. A wonderful feature of this cup is the grisaille(or monotone gray) interior painting featuring a garland of leaves, berries and vines that circles the rim of the cup with individual berries cascading down into the bowl.
