If you notice below and around the roses you will see raised gold moriage design in the form of leaves and into a swag like design of raisd gold beadwork. Seperating the hand painted areas from the cobalt toward the top region you will have a single gold band with a single row of raised gold beads. the cobalt areas have a gold scroll design upon them.showing some typical age reflected gold wear to them. The two cobalt handles also have gold design upon them. the base shows some cobalt as well with the gold accenting. Each side of the neck of the vase has three areas of opening that you can see through.very nice in design. Under each handle is a rather oval shaped cartouche with a single rose bud present along with a green background as a single row of gold beads surrounding it. a real pretty piece. This unmarked piece measures in at not quite 8 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches at the widest. Upon examination other than the traditional gold loss, I do not find any cracks or repairs. If you look at the last picture, I have showed a small smooth slice chip.almost did not see it, but when you closely examine it at the rim area.in the picture it is to the left of center, measures at 1/4 inch.and when you look at the vase straight on.cannot detect it. Mentioned for accuracy however minor. Cobalt has some porcelain showing through in a few places. All of the things mentioned are not major at all, but I tend to be picky about descriptions.as my high feedback shows. Offered at a crazey low opening bid.

$10.00 Shipping Location: Lancaster, United States This is a Flint Cobalt 2" Fluted Whiskey Taster or Possibly a Toy Mug with a Handle. A Finished Pontil, ca. 1850-1870s. It is 1 7/8" tall. 1 ... more11/16" in diameter at the top, 1 3/8" in diameter at the base, 2 1/8" from the end of the handle to the edge of the rim, has 10 half-flutes, a 2-part mold, and a finished(fire polished) pontil. It is a deep cobalt with just a hint of purple. It is too small to have a ring to it. There is a little bit of wear to the high points on the base. Some bubbles, a few of which are large in comparison to the glass, some straw marks, a spot to the left of the handle that has 2 or 3 brown streaks of glass that are somewhat marble-like but are too faint to see unless looked at closely, some fleabites around the inner rim as well as some roughness from the mold, and there's a small flake off the upper rim. There are close ups so please take a look at them Other than this, given its age it's in fairly good vintage condition and has no chips, cracks, bruises, fractures, or repairs. Because of the wear around the upper rim it's possible that this is a toy mug for a child rather than a whiskey taster. But whiskey tasters could be this size. So it might have been used as both. As far as color goes. This piece is among the best; especially the thick base. The glass isn't thick enough anywhere else to be able to see the rich, deep, cobalt blue and even there you have to look at it straight on to be able to see the faint hint of red that turns it a tint of purple. That's why even with the small flake on the upper rim, the color of this piece is the reason it has always had a place of honor among my favorite pieces of glass. Antique 13 inch Cobalt Blue French Barbotine Vases Urns
Check out my! These unusual vases are probably 19th century or earlier but I can't say for sure. They are magnificent in their stature. Both bodies are a deep cobalt blue. The vase on the left has damage as follows. Under the right lip there are some small chips and a small chip on the top right tip. The large flower in the center almost fully intact except for damage on the top petal edge and the center area of the flower. The flower on the left is missing 2 petals. Damage to the left petal and the center. The flower on the right is missing all but one petal. The left leaf has a crack through it.The top right leaf has a small chip. There is a small chip on the base in the center. Quite a bit of restoration needed to this vase but if you didn't do that it is still quite beautiful. The vase on the right has very little damage. Description From the collection of a retired diplomat we offer a pair of 19th century Sevres urns with ormulu mounts. These were turned into lamps sometime early in the 20th century. The bodies are in cobalt. Each holds two bulbs. The wiring is original and dates from the 1920s. These are quite stupendous. On one the ormulu is a bit discoloured with some vertigris. We had an antique dealer tell us they are most probably Sevres but there is no mark of any kind on them so don't know for sure. This is a magnificent piece. The urn was exceptionally well made by J S of Austria and bears their mark on the underside(photo 11) This particular piece has a mark that was used from 1900 through 1933. The company was founded by Josef Strnact Jr who started a terra cotta Majolica factory. As well as a porcelain factory in 1881. This beautiful urn was one of his earliest creations. The piece presents in excellent condition with no flaws or defects, despite its great age. It is in unbelievably wonderful condition. There is a very minor amount of gold paint which has faded, but this is not serious or troublesome. This piece is, after all, over 100 years old. Done in deep cobalt blue, white and gold, the colors are rich and striking. On auction are a pair of small urns with lids. They are almost identical except they have different architectural scenes. They are cobalt blue with raised details and hand painted gold gilt designs. The scenes. I believe, are transfers. The urns measure 8" tall to the tops of their lids, 2 1/2" across the handles and stand on 2 5/8" square bases. The urns are bolted to the bases in 2 different styles. Both pieces have the impressed blue beehive shield for Royal Vienna Porcelain. One has"6206 23 7" impressed on the base and the other has impressed"5243" plus"3009" in ink. One urn is in excellent condition with only minor loss of gold. Measuring 9½" high. This is a beautiful pair of Hand Painted ROYAL VIENNA lidded Urns with Two Handles. They stand on attached square bases and feature Four Different Mythological Scenes. They are signed on the underside with the Beehive mark and titled: Plato ~ Nymphes" on one urn and"Neptune and Aphrodite and Claudius" on the other. Up for bids is this Large Antique Late 19thC Signed Sevres French Porcelain Cobalt Baluster Urn Vase. The bottom of this piece is marked with a Sevres mark which date it to 1890. The baluster form vase is cobalt blue. The urn stands 19 1/2" in height with a diameter of 10 3/4" The bottom of the urn is drilled and part of the rim is repaired which is shown in the last 2 pictures. The piece still displays well. These would be easy restoration form a professional. This piece is very heavy weighing over 16 pounds. Description Antique French hand painted porcelain lidded potpourri urn with gilt bronze mounts. The main body featuring a rich cobalt ground hand painted with gilded accents. To the front is a hand painted portrait depicting a couple in a country setting. Signed what appears to be F. Roy. The reverse featuring a serene lake or river scene with a boat sailing in the distance. Fine casted handles and mounts adorn the urn. Flanked by a pair of figural handles. In the form of opposing grinning Satyr or Pan with horns outspread and curled. At the rim is a bronze mount patterned with scrolls and openwork. Having a metal interior. The lid decorated with gilt painted accents framing charming hand painted pastoral scenes, topped by an artichoke finial. We are pleased to offer this Antique Cobalt Blue Gold Victoria Porcelain Austria Vase/Urn. Measures: 16 7/8” inches in height. 10 5/8” inches in wide(handle to handle) 4 ¼” inches in diameter(opening) The urn is in very nice condition with no cracks or crazing. It has one chip on base(see pictures) Please see picture for a better description of the item. The vase features a scalloped mouth with elaborate scrolled gilded double handles and scrolled open details flanking at the bottom. The vase/urn is well done in the Art Nouveau or jugendstil style. The portraits are a polychrome print(not hand painted) It has portrait Louis XIV bestowed the title of Duke to d'Antin. On one other side there is portrait of Madame de Montespan. Became the second of three mistresses to Louis XIV, King of France. She bore the King seven children. Despite ... morethe fact she remained married to her husband. Her only legitimate son, born in 1665 as Louis-Antoine de Pardaillan de Gondrin, the Marquis d'Antin, who eventually became a favorites of the Court of Louis XIV at Versailles. Made by the Porcelain Factory Victoria. Carlsbad, Austria, and the makers mark dates this piece to have been made between 1891-1918. Victoria Schmidt& Co began at Lazarus& Rosenfeld. Ltd in 1883 who sold to Franz Schmidt two years later. The factory was located in Altrohlau, Bohemia, which was then part of Austria. The same town today is called Stará Role, and the country is now the Czech Republic. It is located on the outskirts of Karlovy Vary(Carlsbad) about 80 miles due west of Prague. Great detailing in the bronze ormolu(see photo#8) The urn stands 18" tall with the lid and 15-1/2" tall without the lid. It measures 4" by 4" at the base. Weighs 5 pounds 11 ounces. Good vintage condition. No cracks or chips though there is some slight wear to the metal from age. The top may not be original as it fits loosely. Antique Sevres cobalt urn ormolu mounted. The front is decorated with hand painted playful scene of the lady with a cherub signed. The opposite side depicts outdoor scene. The back has a Sevres mark with letter S. Sevres dictionary of marks dates it to 18th century. I will leave the age to individual judgement. The wear of the gilt. First quality decoration with raised gilded scrolls around the paintings proofs it is an antique Sevres piece. Great condition. Some crazing on the body age related. Size approximately 17" hight. Beautiful Sevres Style Urns 10" high Deep Cobalt blue with raised gold paint/glaze detailing and bronze Ormolu mounted metal bases and handles. These have been in my family for several generations. I don't know how they were originally acquired. We had an antique dealer tell us they are most probably Sevres but there is no mark of any kind on them so we don't know for sure. One side of the pair of urns has a floral spray. The other side shows a courting couple. The artwork is signed'Munier' probably French artist Emile Munier(1840-1895) Top condition with some very slight wear on the gold band around some of the art work. see photos) These beautiful urns are lovely for display or for collectors.
