50'+ c1880-90 quartersawn oak RAISED paneling wainscot 50-60" h MULTIple section
Large lot of quartersawn oak wainscot paneling Salvaged in Buffalo. NY Much of the paneling has white paint(looks to be 2 coats) some of the sections have original golden oak varnish. I have posted NUMEROUS pictures on my web site- I was limited to 12 photos here. ANTIQUE QUARTERSAWN OAK PANELED ROOM - TUDOR STYLE
This is an incredible find! Here up for auction is an all original salvaged quarter sawn oak paneled room from an upper East side Apartment in Manhattan- most likely from the turn of the 20th century. The wood is in excellent condition and has beautiful details while it remains simple in design. Chamfored edges with wooden riveted detail mark the details of this exquisite room. The overall dimensions of the room are: 10 ft. H x 17.5 ft. x 23 ft. with surfaces fully paneled with cutouts for a mantel- two doors and three windows and four built in cabinets. Included is a wooden mantel with simple acanthus leaf design below the shelf and bolection surround. Also two single doors with paneling on one side and three molded panels on the other. As well as the four built in cabinets. On the one wall: Mantel measures: 47.5 in. W x 46.75 in. H Shelf ... moremeasures: 60.5 in. W x 3.5 in. deep- marble insert not included- was broken in removal) Shelving units: Depth measures 9 in. bottom cabinet measures 26.25 in. H and shelves measure 63 in. H. Each unit has a different width: 1) 62.75 in. W(2) 57 in. W Crown molding protrudes 6 in. from the face of the paneling On the other wall with shelving units: Overall height is 89.75 in. and 38 in. W each unit- height of cabinet on bottom is 26.25 in. and the depth of the shelves are 10 in. On the wall with the window cutouts: Each cutout measures 95.5 in. H x 39.25 in. W. There were three face panels below each window that measures 40.75 in. W x 19 in. H- that covered the radiators. The paneling covers 775 sq ft area including the doors and shelves. VICTORIAN HORNER QUARTERSAWN OAK FIGURAL WINGED GRIFFIN CREST
Offering this wonderful Victorian Horner Brothers Figural Quartersawn Oak Crest in todays Auction. Recently discovered. It was originally in the Summit Hotel in Poland Springs Maine. It was reportedly part of a Grand Fireplace Mantle. We will be listing the Griffins in a separate Auction. It is 50" Wide by 12" Tall. The Crest features two fully Winged Griffins facing each other on either side of the center medallion which has a castle below a crown top. Needs a small amount of restoration. Great original finish. Penn Antique Restoration. 9"x26" Antique Victorian Quartersawn Oak Pilaster Base. Gorgeous. Antique, pilaster base salvaged from Southeastern, PA. The block is made of solid, quartersawn oak, and has a medium stain. It has beautiful carved details including acanthus, beads, and other geometric shapes. It was cut cleanly from the full pilaster that it was once a part of. It could be used as a stand-alone decorative element or incorporated onto another. Bigger architectural piece(i.e. closet front, fireplace mantel, etc. It's in very good condition with only a few nicks. This is a great looking floor with a beautiful aged shellac(varnish) patina and finish. There are some normal scratches. But the floor is absolutely beautiful and ready for installation! This flooring was referred to as"hardwood carpet" in the late 19th century as it was laid over the 1" sub-floor instead of being a stand alone structural wood floor. This was a less expensive alternative. Yet seen as a much more luxurious option than carpet. It also allowed the floor to be installed after the rest of the house was complete, minimizing wear. Quartersawn Oak bar back Carved Flowers or Seperate panel Architectural trim
Up for sale is a great Quarter sawn oak panel that was removed from an old house. Each panel is carved with a nice flower. You can use each panel separately or assemble as one piece. It just takes your imagination for a use! Each flower carving is about 8" tall. The total panel is 44 ¼“long and 32” tall. Each board is 3 ¼ wide and 33 tall including the tongues. The end boards are 2 ¼ wide and 34” tall. You get 12 carved and 2 end cap boards. They are in very nice shape for being so old. They were refinished at some point and are nice and clean.
