Antique lion head mouldings
These unusual and beautiful items are original plaster mouldings which were owned by an antique furniture restorer/cabinet maker. I think these old and very delicate lion's head mouldings were removed from an antique setting(possibly a fireplace or architectural piece) to enable replacements to be made. They are badly worn and the plaster has become discoloured and flaked but they retain a certain grandeur and charm. They could be mounted for display and would look magnificent in a period setting. It measures approx 15"h X 15"w X 8 1/2"d. I've owned this work since the 1980's. I'm in the process of reducing my personal collection to one example of each architectural head. Originally I owned multiple examples of this head. This is the last one of these available for auction. It is a wonderful object in and of itself and a great piece of American architectural decoration.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING. Up for sale here is a fantastic piece of antique architectural salvage. This piece is a 19th century 3D figural double lion's head theater ticket stub or ballot box. It is an amazing statement piece. The box itself is steel. The heads are pressed tin or zinc. They are both soldered or welded to the steel box. Each head was made from two pieces and soldered together in the middle of the head from top to bottom. The box has brass hinges and a steel hasp. It is in good condition. But does have a few little holes that I have photographed up close for you. It measures 9 1/2" tall x 9 1/2" deep. It is wedge shaped with the base measuring 4" wide and the top 3 1/4" wide. Rustic Vintage Wall Mount Steel Mailbox Farm Mailbox With Lion Head Pull Alrighty– I am slowly working my way to the last of the antique dealer auction items. So I did some power shopping yesterday to replenish the shelves… and did I get lucky! I have some fabulous early primitives to list this week, antique and vintage folk art, early tools, beautiful Victorian items– there’s something for everyone– you won’t be disappointed! Here is an awesome rustic steel mailbox for you. It's from a farmhouse. But has an oddly, out of characteristic fancy, almost gothic style to it! It matches the style from around here, though- a long tube in shape, you pull down on the hinged door to access the mail. There's two screw mounting holes at the back, and a fancy plate over the box that has two crest designs on it. It is in excellent solid, sturdy ... moreand working condition, with loooooooots of rustic wear from age and use. You can see significant paint loss to the black paint, especially on the box, and there's lots of surface rust spots that show where the metal is exposed. It's surface only- nothing more, with no holes or eat throughs. The backplate doesn't show as much wear, as it was not as exposed, I'm guessing- it is steel too. It needs a gooooood clean up- it's dusty/dirty/cobwebby and has what looks almost like oxidation or dust on it, and I have not cleaned or messed with the as found condition in any way, and problably a good paint job, and it will sparkle for you(unless you like it rustic, in which case- your job is done) It measures 14" wide at the top of the box(over the door) 13 1/2" wide at the bottom of the box/the lid/door, and 11 1/2" wide at the backplate. The top of the box is 5 3/4" deep while the door at the bottom(which is the round bottom of the box) is 5" diameter. It stands 5" tall at the box top and 7" tall at the backplate. It weighs a smidge over 3 lbs. Aside from the finish wear and the surface rust, I cannot find any other issues. I can'

Outrageous Door Lion's Head Leaves Flowers Old Italian Salvage Hand Carved Bling
There are doors and well. You know there are doors, this one I'd say is over the top! Found an article from the local paper in 1975. States, The owner of the home this door came from. Traveled to Europe in the 1920's, buying a few rooms at a World Exposition in Brussels, this came from an italian exhibit. The door loaded with hand carved ornamentation, measures 72 X 32, not including the header or side casing) With details featuring a lions head in the center of the door, above a vertical panel with stems. Leaves, flowers and berries which divides raised square panels of golden leaves with darts at each corner. Main cross panel of gold stems with green leaves. At the bottom a lovely panel with two large leaves with red berries with egg and dart surround. Perimeter is layers of smaller leaves with berries. Has five blocks with gold ... moreflowers. Has pull latch on the right side. There are a few photos of where there is minor surface wear. Such an outrageous door! The back of the door is plain. Was used in a billiard room and covered the area where the billiard sticks were stored. Header and surround are ornately painted and carved. When dismantling this room. We found under a beam a note with the carpenters name and 1926 written in pencil. Large Solid Cast Brass Medallion Lion Head Garden Fountain-Architectural Salvage
Large vintage solid brass medallion or finial for fountain. Or other. Heavy solid brass. The lion symbol measures 10 1/4" tall and 6 3/4" wide. Also 2 1/2" deep. There are two connecting spots on the back. One of them has the threaded insert that screws in and out. The other side is missing. The angle of the connections tells me that it went on something round. Excellent dark, natural patina on the brass front. Beautiful architectural piece. Also numbered on the back as seen in the photos.
