These oar locks came off of a vintage Old Town Boat years ago. They have been sitting on a shelf in the barn for a quite a while and it’s time for them to go down the river. They are in great shape except for screw holes; some idiot opened them up for to be able to use bigger screws. The base plates measure approximately 1 ¾ inches by 4 7/8 inches. This set has a great patina and were manufactured when quality mattered. Each pair of oar locks were hand lapped in to make them operate smoothly. RARE antique parlor aquarium victorian conservatory architectural
Amazing 2 year restoration project of a rare 1890's Victorian conservatory/parlor aquarium. This aquarium would have sit in the parlor or conservatory(greenhouse) of a wealthy industrialist of the time period as aquariums of this type were expensive even back 120+ years ago. This beautiful aquarium is made of cast iron from the"plant shelf" down.The iron base has a beautiful swirl pattern with"faces in headdress" on each leg. The 10 gallon(approximately) hexagon aquarium is made from stamped zinc and the top filigree and urn are made from copper. The height is 58" and the width and depth is 28" x 28" The original aquarium probably had a steam powered air pump that sit on the shelf right below the plant shelf. I have this aquarium currently running with a new external pump and cartridge filter that is ... moreenclosed in a black steel powder coated"box" so as not to distract from the aquarium. I only know of 3 of these aquariums in my 35+ years of collecting these tanks. 2 of them I own and the other lives in Canada with another collector friend of mine. Restoration; Both of mine had the top zinc aquarium either missing or in rusted pieces. It took me several years to find a metal guy who took the time to make a pattern and replicate the aquarium from scratch and then we found a 125 year old tin metal ceiling company that looks like they made the actual top filigree and urn for this aquarium for the original iron company back in the 1890's! The iron base and shelf are are original although I added black slate on top of the shelf to hold the potted plants. original was wood( Painted to the original colors from the 1890's. Antique Iron Dolphin Serpent Downspout. Rare Unique indoor / outdoor decor!
This rare find was discovered at an estate sale in Florida. The owner had lived and owned buildings in Savannah. Georgia for many years. I am guessing this is where the downspout originated. It is iron, painted black. I have no estimation on the age, maker, etc. There is no marking or indication anywhere to tell me this. 36.5" long(bottom of mouth to top of cat tail) about 9" wide. And around 3.5" deep(to the highest point of the face. It weighs 22.8 lbs. The mouth is open. Which allowed for water to flow out, presumably from a building. I had it displayed in my study for a number of years, and it was commented on numerously. A friend that dabbled in antiques suggested that I list it on ebay, due to the rarity and uniqueness. Amazingly good condition galvanized steel ash or coal bucket. Bear in mind that this item does have some rust issues but that certainly adds to the rustic look of this great collectible piece. Bucket has a top opening that measures 16 1/2" x 13" and is 10 1/2" tall at highest point and 9 1/4" at lowest height point. Bucket has slightly wider base than bottom of bucket. Carrying handle is intact and in great condition. The nice thing about this particular coal bucket is that it still has the back end handle still in place. Century Block Paver Brick Here is a very rare Century Block thats not seen very often. The letter C in Century is directly above the B in Block. Normaly the C is off to the left side. Made around the turn of the century and is in very nice condition. The size is 3 1/2 inchs thick by 5 inchs wide and 9 inchs long. This is an oversize paver. This Cast Iron Architectural Star is out of East Tennessee and is probably from the 1860s. And such a Rare Design that you definately won't find one of eBay and probably won't find one anywhere on the web. With only a 6" Span, the thickness measures 1 1/16" It Weighs 2.692 Lbs. The Central Hole is unusual in that it tapers from a 1 1/16" Diameter on the top side to a 7/8" Diameter on the underside. The points graduate down, in thickness, via scalloped levels. Antique. Vintage Hercules Water Heater Number 2570. Not much is known about this item except for what you see in the photos. We had done some research and found that these water heaters were patented in the 1913's though. We did not do any real cleaning on her except for a little blowing off with a air blow gun and my husband found that the coils on the inside are open and do flow. It was found in an old building that was scheduled for demolition and I could not let a piece of history be destroyed. I know someone will give her a good home. This piece of rusty gold just needs a little cleaning and maybe a little paint if desired. Very rare, very heavy and hard to find. These feet at least twice as big as the standard tub foot. They are original feet, not reproductions. Solid, heavy iron. Circa 1880s. Condition is excellent. No cracks. No chips to their spectacular plumage. They are perfect. They have distressed white paint which makes them perfect architectural elements or lamp bases. They have a bit of plaster on the backs from their original mount. Sometimes people use plaster to fill in gaps around the top of a foot if they don't want to see gaps. Every flange on reverse is perfect. The feet measure 11" tall from dolphin chin to upper most peak. They are 10" wide at the top. This auction is for a pair of antique cast iron decorative architectural snow birds. Both marked: S&S MFG. CO. SLATINGTON, PA. PAT. OCT. 23, 1906- These old innovative items were once installed at the bottom edge of roofs to prevent ice from sliding off in order to prevent injuries to people walking below. They are still fully functional and in very good condition showing a little rust but they were made for outdoors inclement weather. Antique Mill Stone - Extremely Rare
Antique coral mill stone carved by Edward Leedskalnin in the early 1920's. Edward Leedskalnin is famous for constructing the coral castle in Florida. This mill stone is made of coral and has been passed down in my family for generations. This is extremely rare and a must have for any collector of mill stones. In the early 1920’s. Thousands of tons of coral stone were quarried, carved, and placed singlehandedly by Ed, supposedly weighing only 100 pounds himself, to create what has been called‘the eighth wonder of the world’ The Coral Castle. As the story goes, a 26 year old man, Edward Leedskalnin from Riga, Latvia was engaged to be married to his one true love, a young woman by the name of Agnes who was 10 years his junior. The night before the wedding, Agnes called off the wedding and broke Ed’s heart. Heartbroken, Ed left Latvia and ... moreeventually ended up in Florida where he began building a structure that is today still a sight shrouded in mystery. The Coral Castle, or Rock Gate Park as Ed originally called it, was built by Ed with absolutely no known help or modern construction equipment between the years of 1923 and 1951.

rare antique US Challenge windmill pump jack water Batavia Ill Illinois farm vtg
This auction is for antique pump jack. It was made by the US Challenge Co. in Batavia. Illinois. I have the main part, the mounting plate, and the vertical piece that moved up and down. I believe I have it all but not sure on that. It is rusty but still solid. The pulley wheel moves freely and the pump goes up and down. It would make a great piece to restore. The wheel itself measures 17 inches in diameter. The main component measures approx. 32 by 13 inches by 19 inches tall, the plate 18 by 9 inches and the vertical piece measures approx. 53 inches long. It is heavy and so I have shipping for local pickup only. If you want it shipped I can work with you and take it to a shipping company that can ship it but I do not have the means to crate it and ship it myself.
