This beautiful embroidered picture of a guarding angel would be perfect for a little girl babies room. It is exquist in detail and workmanship. I believe it to be from the Victorian era or maybe even earlier. It is in the original gilt frame. The picture with frame measures 13 1/2" by 10 3/4" The picture alone measures 10 3/4" by 8 1/2" I believe it a silk embroidery either on a silk or linen background. The picture has only the tiniest bit of wear that is hardly noticeable. Where the threads have separated. I mention this simply to advise that it is not in excellent condition but very near excellent condition. The old gilt frame has had minor paint loss on a few of the tips. Easy to retouch. Rare original Stevengraph: Thomas Stevens silk woven picture. Framed- original title"Signing of the Declaration of Independence" Remounted in a modern mount and presented in a modern wood and gilt frame. One of several Stevengraphs I am listing this week- do have a look at the others. The silk size is 2.5x6.5 inches approximately and the frame size is 7.5x11.5 inches Date: 1890s The word Stevengraph was coined by Thomas Stevens of Coventry. England who adapted his jacquard looms to produce multi-coloured images in pure silk. Silk bookmarks were produced from the early 1860s and the pictures and portraits from 1879. Fewer and fewer are appearing for sale these days so they are becoming quite scarce. Mr Stevens had many rivals but his weavings are considered to be the best. This is for a beautiful Victorian miniature embroidered portrait of a lady. The detailing is fabulous the artist has used the perfect colours of thread to create the perfect shading of her face and hair. The portrait is framed in glass with its original wooden frame that has a paper backing and loop for hanging to a wall. The embroidery is in absolute excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere and it is not faded at all. The frame does have a minute little hairline crack in it but it is hardly noticeable. Antique Large Framed Gilt Tapestry Picture
This is a old tapestry picture with an 18th century social scene of couples dancing in moonlight. This picture measures 103.5 cm wide with 59.5 cm height. The tapestry is in very good condition although it has been stored for years wrapped in cardboard and the sellotape has marked the side of the gilt frame in four places when I have removed the wrappings. The tapestry is very unusual and the frame measures 7.5 cm with a depth of 5 cm. It weighs 5.65 kg so is for collection only in the Essex area. The backing and the hanging string are present on this picture. All appear to be very old. This cost a considerable amount of money but downsizing forces sale.

Completed vintage embroidered embroider fabric framed picture of two dog dogs brown gray amongst the flowers. Very fun and in an old wooden frame with glass in it. One dog is brown and the other is gray with black stitches. Both dogs have green eyes. Background looks like off white linen fabric. It must have been made from an old kit because the fabrics are colored under the dogs and flowers. The flowers and collars background looks pinkish to me. Picture frame is in good condition. Glass in picture. Frame has decorate inside edge. Framed it measures 10 3/4" x 12 3/4" String hanger on back. Nails on back look pretty old and rusted.
