This is a genuine vintage item probably from 1930s or 40s. The ... morewhite surplice is white fine cotton with gold embroidery around the hem-line. The surplice is a loose fitting style and will fit most sizes. It has long sleeves which can be turned up at the cuff. It fits over the head and ties at the neck with cotton ties- and comes to lower calf level. In fair condition- there is some damage on this item. There are several neat darns in the fabric- under one armpit and a patch on the other armpit- some darns at the back of the neck and on the hem of the surplice. The hand worked embroidery is pretty and the garment is wearable. Size- extra large. No labeled size but I would estimate chest size 46-50 inches. From armpit to armpit is approx 28 inches. Length from nape of neck to hem is 43 inches. Shoulder to shoulder across the back is 19 inches. Sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff is 23 inches. Ideal for church use. Antique Gold Roman Chasuble Fiddleback Vestment for Catholic Priest, Clergy
Gold Colored Roman Chasuble/Fiddleback Vestment for Low Mass This beautiful Chasuble is in very good antique condition. It has been recently refurbished and can once again be employed for Divine Worship. This particular vestment was originally made in France and is very substantial and heavy. Although I am not certain of the material. It reminds me of cloth of gold and feels almost metallic. The Chasuble. Maniple, and stole have been completely relined with red satin fabric. There are no rips or tears in the shell of the chasuble although there is some faint spots of mild discoloration. The chalice veil and burse were constructed from a dalmatic that was beyond repair, which is why there is a unique pattern formed with the galloons. I should note that the burse cannot be opened. All pains have been taken to salvage the beautiful lamb on the ... moreback of the vestment. Some of the metal parts of the lamb's legs were lost to time and have been replaced with thread. New longer strings were added to the inside front of the chasuble that help to secure the vestment to the waist of the priest. This set includes: Chasuble. Stole, Maniple, Burse, Chalice Veil. The dimensions of the chasuble is approximately: Back: 39" from shoulder to hem; 25" across. Front: 34.5" from shoulder to hem; 22" across at widest point. Stunning vintage gold lame' and ivory patterned priest's stole with large appliques on each end panel. Each end panel pictures a gold chalice. Host, cross and alpha/omega symbols on a burgundy velvet background. There is a gold band at mid-length to hold the stole in place and gold metallic fringe at each end panel. There is a gold lame' cross at the neck and the lining is of gold/orange colored satin material. It is ideal for celebrations of major feast, baptisms, weddings and ordinations. Antique St. Phillip Neri Style red Chasuble
Here is an antique Chasuble. In the style of St. Phillip Neri(Due to large proportions. The back is in beautiful shape except for the trim on the edges, does need some loving care. The Front is more worn, see photos. In the center of the front, one can see the wear of it rubbing against the altar of many times. Also looks like someone replaced a section in the center of the front long ago, from the middle to the bottom(all the sections in this section appear either newer or mismatched) From the back, measures 28.5 inches wide and 48.5 from bottom to the bottom of the neck line. The Front measures 27 inches wide at the widest point towards the bottom. The cloth used has an extremely soft and luxurious feel to it. Maniple = is slightly worn. But wasn't used as much as the rest of the set. Fringe at the bottom is beautiful shape. Stole = ... moreis more worn than the maniple. But relative to the chasuble, is in better shape(pattern wise) although portions of it are somewhat faded. Typical slight soiling to the trim around the neckline. Backing is still intact, but could be replaced to freshen it up. Measures 48 inches from the cross made of trim to the start of the fringe at the bottom. 3 inches wide. Like the Chasuble, 3/4ths of the trim appears to have been replaced at some point, but is identical to the original. Suspect it was replaced because it is brighter with not as many signs of wear. However, I don't think it was anytime recent- even it is soiled and shows some wear. Backing on all 3 pieces feels like it made of a linen broadcloth. Now faded with age. Soiled, threadbare in some areas along the edges, but overall intact. Overall. The set is usable now and is striking in appearance. If this was re-worked, and re-backed, with some love and care, could serve another couple generations! SEE photos to complete the description. If you want any additional photos. Antique Green Chasuble and Stole for Catholic Priest, Clergy Vestment for Mass
Beautiful Antique Green Chasuble and Stole for Mass This is an antique green chasuble and stole set for the celebration of the Mass. It is in good condition with very little wear. The material is of a kelly green that is much more Roman than the darker forest green color that is often produced today. The back is embroidered with a cross that is composed of flowers with the iconic IHS in the center. The front is a simple pillar composed in the same theme as the back. There are two strings that are used to secure the vestment around the waist of the priest. The matching stole is in very good condition and its adorned with metallic fringe on the bottom. It has a sewn cloth around the neck to absorb any sweat that may damage the material. The only sign of age and wear is found on the front between the embroidered part of the vestment. The cloth ... moreis slightly distressed and is beginning to fray. This can be seen in the photos 6& 7 provided above. Aside from this. The lining is in excellent condition for its age. Stunning vintage priest's green brocade preaching stole with gold symbols and fringe. There is a gold interlaced trefoil and triangle symbol near each end panel and a gold cross at the neck. It has a gold band and 2.5 inches of gold fringe at each end. The lining is a rich bronze colored satin. The maker's tag reads.J. Theodore Cuthbertson Philadelphia, PA" and has a small snap under the tag to attach to the alb or chasuble. The interlaced trefoil and triangle was a common symbol of Christian Trinity during the late Middle Ages in Europe. It is mitered and contoured at the neck for proper fit. this is an auction for an absolutely stunning vintage green and gold"fiddleback" chasuble and stole. There is one very easily to fix flaw on the garment(please see photo) a small tare on a seam. Unique Vintage Chasuble vestment Catholic Priest Robe Magnificent Color!!
this is a gorgeous colored catholic vestment. Deep salmon color with red ribbon and gold embroidery. There are two small flaws +please see photos+ the first is 2 small holes on top piece of fabric.But hardly noticeable because lining piece is intact. The second is some smudge marks on lower back near hem(I think these can be washed out but I didn't want to mess with it) garment measures 43" inches from back if neck to lower hem and is made from a rayon/ poly material with a sheen. This garment was previously worn and used by a world traveled priest who originated from Vietnam.
