A Deacons vestment which is the outermost liturgical vestment worn by clergy for the celebration of the Eucharist in Western-tradition Christian Churches that use full vestments. This vestment has a makers tag from"Les Ateliers d'Art Liturgique" in Montreal. Canada. It measures a little over 36 inches long from the top of the collar to bottom hem. We believe this is called a"fiddleback" style. Has beautiful satin like material and lining. Rich gold colored ... moretrim and lining with nice accent colors. This robe is vintage and used. It would benefit greatly from a dry cleaning. We have not done so. There is some wear consistent with age and being worn frequently. This wear might be found in frayed material, small spots/staining, frayed trim, etc. There is one noticeable stain on the backside at the left armpit area. There is also a spot of staining on the front side, all visible in our photos. It appears to have a good age to it. Perhaps borderline antique not just vintage. Either in the Catholic, Anglican or Lutheran faiths, I'm not sure which. Difficult to date precisely, but I would guess 1950s or 60s. The piece is made of red moire fabric and trimmed in red satin ribbon that is woven with crosses in simulated gold and with other detailing in green, purple, yellow and red. The edge is trimmed in yellow, red and green roping. Red is a color typically used for Pentecost or at Easter time. It is in excellent condition and looks to have seen little use. Description Vintage Vestment DALMATIC Stole. Gold Fabric from Catholic OMIs N.W.T. Canada(Lot 7252) This is for a vintage Gold fabric. Red lining- Dalmatic stole. This came from one of the OMI mission's in the N.W.T. of Canada. It is a vintage piece. Likely dating from the mid-1900s. My dad collected this from his best friend who was an Oblate Missionary in the N.W.T. This is in really good condition and has seen light wear. There doesn't appear to be any stains. But, there are some loose seams- under one arm and around the neckline. This is an easy job for any seamstress.here are minor stains, no rips or tears. The gold thread is exquisite. This is a stunning piece and would be a great addition to any religious artifact collection.
