Vintage Santo Santos Embroidered Vestment Religious Statue Creche
Up for consideration is an old/ vintage santo vestment. The blue part of the vestment is embroidered with flowers and has a chalice in the middle; made from velvet. The white tunic is made from lace as can be seen in the photos. There are also some stain on the tunic. It measures approx 12" from neck to hemline and about 8" across the sleeves including the lace trimming. Onofri of Yonkers New York. Ecclesiastical tailors who were well known tailors of religious garments. This is a superbly crafted garment unlike ready made ones of today. The torso and sleeves are fully lined. There is a row of wooden buttons down the front. There may be 1 or 2 missing ... moreat the bottom, but there is an extra button in the pocket. The buttons are on a placket that conceals a full length zipper so no need to deal with buttoning up those many buttons. There is a snap covered by a button at the top. The collar is padded as are the shoulders. There is an inside breast pocket. Concealed pockets are combined with a slit so that you may put something in the pocket of the vestment or be able to reach your pants pockets. The bottom hem is reinforced on the reverse side with a fringed trim so that the fringe hits the floor and not the bottom of the hem. This also weights the hem down. Some of the buttons on the front appear to have been replaced as although the fronts look the same, the backs are different. Overall nice condition on this vintage cassock. Please check the following measurements which are approximate as there is no size on the garment itself: Collar: 16 1/2" Sleeve: 24 1/2" from Shoulder Seam to Cuff Edge Chest: 44" measured around Chest to Back Under Arm Shoulder: 19" from Shoulder Seam to Shoulder Seam Length: 55" from Collar Seam to Bottom Hem Suggested uses are Traditional Latin Mass. Beautiful antique priest's cloak by the John P. Daleiden Co. of Chicago. It is Rose(HOT PINK) in color and has gold embroidered trim and gold tassel trim. I believe that the material is silk jacquard. The condition is very good with the exception of some fraying of the material around the embellished metal closure and I noticed a few of the gold corded tassels were frayed. Look at the final photograph. Their is a small hole in the vestment. It is about 1/2" x 1/2" Both flaws look larger than they are because I tried to take a close shot of it. I think they could both be easily stitched. I bought a number of vestments from an estate. If I am reading the label correctly it was made in 1969. 1) The main piece measures 51" from the back of the neck to the hem. Both the front and back have three gold crosses. 2) The chalice pall measures 22 1/2" square. 3) The burse measures 8" square. 4) The corporal measures 16" square 5) The gold cincture is 160" long. 1860-1960.one hundred years of fashion& accesories Antique Religious Red Silk Brocade Embroidered Priests Vestment Chasuble Poncho This antique religious red silk brocade embroidered Catholic priests vestment chasuble dates from 1900. It is made of a red silk damask weave brocade fabric with a woven floral pattern. Colorful chain stitch embroidery work done in a floral fancy rococo design and gold metallic lamé trim edging, creating a cross on the back. This religious Catholic priests vestment chasuble has a loose fitting poncho style with open sides and is fully lined. The chasuble measures 37 inches long and 26 inches wide. It is in good as-is condition, with a few frayed splits and mended repairs on the silk(see close-up) This is truly a wonderful antique religious textile! Nice Vintage Religious Vestment(Alb) 5 Piece Set. Very bright orange linen with a double row of gold embellishment on the bottom. 1) Alb- measures about 60" long from the nape of the neck. The sleeves are about 21 1/2" long. 2) Chalice Pall- there is a loose loop in the ornate stitching. It is visible in photo#3. 3) Two small squares; I don't know what they are called. 4) Hood I bought a number of vestments from an estate. Here is a very nice set of Priest Owned Reliquary Religious Greek Orthodox Altar Vestments including I believe are 3 different Communion Host Tray Plates(any info will be greatly appreciated) and 2 Vestment Decorations on Chains plus a Picture Card of unknown Origin and Printing and a piece of Wood that was stored with the picture- Priest Owned and any info will be greatly appreciated. The very nice Trays are 7" plus the handles that are marked IHS on 2 of them. The trays are made out of brass or brass and copper, the set are in excellent condition, looks and displays great, and would be a super addition to your collection!
