This is a divine antique lithurgical( french wall hanging featuring deep blue silk velvet draped from a heavy metal frame. It is accented by an ornate metallic trim. Two fine metal tassels, and 4 thick metal pleasant chiming bells. The silk velvet and metallic trim/bells, metal frame, and double metal fringe tassels are circa 1800s, and was made into this wall hanging backed by a later cotton. Width 53 inches across front length 39 and 1/2 inches from center oval neck opening to bottom of hem. Back length 43 inches from center of oval neck opening to bottom of hem. Chasubles, stoles, a few Deacons stoles, and more. The color of this cloth is a soft butter or cream. Also. Please excuse the images of flowers underneath the cloth- it is my bedspread showing through. This is a used Vestment Funeral Pall that measures 112” long and is 68” wide. There is a 3 ¼” hem around the borders and the vertical seams are ½” wide. The center panel is 34” wide and each side panel is 17” wide. The center of the Pall has a ... moresewn on appliqué of the XP Chi Rho symbol in gold. Blue and red. All four corners have weights inside to hold the cloth in place. The hem around the border is all carefully and skillfully hand stitched and the vertical seams are machine sewn. I am not sure of the cloth content. But an educated guess is a cotton/poly blend. It is probably machine washable. But I do not think the appliqué would do very well, so I would recommend Dry Cleaning. There are no holes. Tears, repairs or worn spots in the cloth, but there are some stains. I have taken some pictures to show them. But I am not sure what they are from. They are darker from the back of the cloth and it does not appear that this has been laundered since the stains occurred so they are probably not set in. Vintage Clergy Vestment Stole red with blue gold band and fringe
This is a very nice and clean vintage stole except for one small stain that looks like candle wax that I have pictured in the last photo. It is located near the bottom of the picture on the right side and not real noticeable. This is a narrow stole measuring only 2 1/4" wide and is 47" long from top to bottom of the fringe. All monitors are set a little different and mine shows this stole as being a little more on the cherry red color. It is not quite that color and the last photo shows on mine to be the true color. It has a little more burgundy in it that tones it down. Thank you for looking.
