This is a beautiful vintage monastic style purple and blue chasuble and stole set by C.M. Almy. The chasuble is purple color with a full blue monastic rolled collar and a large. Blue St. George's cross on the front. The chasuble has a maker's tag which reads,C.M. Almy& Sons, Rye, New York Made in U.S.A. The stole is a matching purple with a blue cross on the neck and a white lace neck protector sewn on. Each end panel has a matching 3 inch blue stripe. The stole is mitered and contoured at the neck for proper fit. There is a little light sweat staining on the white neck protector. Otherwise the chasuble and stole are in very good. Ready to wear condition. The chasuble is 46 inches long in front and 52 inches long in back and with ample width. Description: Chasuble and stole made of a blue brocade fabric(I can't quite tell if it is silk or imitation silk) Decorated on the front with a gold appliqued Jersualem cross design. Chasuble has a collar. Both pieces lined in blue. Condition: There is some fairly heavy discoloration on the neckline of the chasuble. But otherwise the set is in good condition. I have not had it dry cleaned, so I don't know if it can be removed, but it is best to assume it can't. It might also be possible for a seamstress to remove the collar completely.
