3 piece authentic priest's vestments. These are real priests vestments not a cheap Halloween costume or knock off Including white long sleeved under dress. Red chasuble with yellow/gold silk embroidered trim and purple velvet stole with gold embroidered cross. White under dress is large. Sized for a tall adult male and has the'slabbinck' label in it. It is is excellent condition excluding a candle burn on the right arm. Which you can see in the photo but when the red chasuble is worn it covers it. The red chasuble is also in good condition. As you can see in the photo at the back by the neck the gold silk trim is a little frayed and there is a repair to a tear at the front which is not really even visible. The purple stole is in perfect condition. Just the price for chasuble alone new runs around the $400-800 marks. Difficult to date precisely. But I would guess 1940s or 50s. The piece is made of black rayon moire and lined in purple rayon acetate. The garment is crossed at both the front and back with purple velvet. The back has a printed image of Jesus wearing a crown of thorns- I believe that this chasuble would have been used for Good Friday service. Black and purple are colors typically used during Lent, but black was also used on All Souls Day and at funerals. The image of Jesus is quite beautiful, edged with metallic gold ... morerickrack and accented with gold and satin roping. It is in very good condition with the exception of some yellowish discoloration to the velvet, mostly to the top and bottom and at seam joints. Otherwise, it is in very good condition and looks great. It measures 55 across the top from the end of one sleeve, over the shoulders, and to the end of the other sleeve. It has a length of 47 and weighs 1 lb and 4 oz.
