1860-1960.one hundred years of fashion& accesories Antique 18th Century Catholic Religious Red Silk Brocade Priests Vestment Stole Scarf This antique religious red silk brocade Catholic priests vestment stole scarf dates from the 18th century. It is hand stitched. Made of a red silk weave damask brocade fabric with a colorful woven floral pattern design, gold metallic lamé trim edging along the bottom ends and cross appliquéd on the back neck. This religious Catholic priests vestment stole has a long scarf like style which hangs around the neck and forms an X shape cross on the front chest. It is the symbol of the clerical office, immortality and the yoke of Christ. The stole is fully lined backed in a blue linen fabric. It measures 90 inches long, 3 inches wide and 8 inches wide along the ends. It is in good condition, with ... moresome staining black marks. Vintage Reversible Religious Stole measures 60" from the center of the neck to the beginning of the fringe. The fringe measures about 3 3/4" One side is red/silver the other side is turquoise/silver.
