Ornate Antique Cast Iron Arched Wall Floor Grate Vent Air Register louvers
Will take best offers. Up for auction is for an antique arched/dome cast iron wall heat register. From bottom to the top of the arch it is 15 3/4" and it is 12 inches wide. It has no cracks or breaks but because this is cast iron there are places where it did not cast perfectly but they are not noticeable except by close inspection. It has sit in our store for many years. We have just sand blasted it and primed it with white so you can paint it to match whatever you want. This is old stock from Mark's Supply in Shenandoah. PA. In this listing we are offering a very unique antique architectural brass/bronze cast metal figural ornament decoration. Very ornate piece. Of a woman’s upper body decorated with flowers and fruit in three dimension, 3D relief. Straight flat top. The back has an old screw with traces of plaster on it. Please check photos. The piece is covered with some sort of old lacquer. Probably to prevent it from oxidizing. Very pretty. Date: Late 1800’s to the very early 1900’s. Unmarked. I am really not sure what to call these. They might be large shelving brackets but I think they went in the corners of a large door or entry way. This auction is for the pair of them. Each one measures 21 inches by 21 inches by 31 inches across. One of them is in perfect shape the other has two cracks in the ornate section however is still solid. I thought about welding those two parts but thought I would leave it to the next owner. I was going to put them in the corners of a door way but they were just to large for that entry. This is a large lot of antique wrought iron fence with ornate detail. This is from the civil war era. It is in restorable condition. The finials are mostly. If not all there, the fence has an overall rusty pitted patina. The iron is light gauge as was typical of the era. There are some bottom rails that are rotted. This is very rare find. Large cast iron newel posts from the late 1800's with incredible design and quality. These posts are from the Sterling Hotel of Wilkes barre Pennsylvania. This hotel was frequented by Coal barons and other prosperous merchants of the time. It was even visited in the early 1900's by Eleanore Roosevelt. The lobby was stunning. Highly Ornate wrought iron stair railing & balcony railing from late 1800's
This is very rare ornate wrought iron stair railing from the grand lobby of the Sterling hotel. There are floral and spiral leaf details that are rarely found in American iron anymore. This hotel was frequented by Coal barons and other prosperous merchants of the time. It was even visited in the early 1900's by Eleanore Roosevelt. The lobby was stunning. And this railing graced the grand lobby stair case on the first and ball room floors. The first two pictures show the iron as pictured in the hotel before it was taken out.
