There is nothing broken on the bell however the striker is missing.an easy fix with a large washer or nut. The cow mounted on the top is starting to show a little rust coming through as you can see from the pictures. It has no cracks or breaks but because this is cast iron there are places where it did not cast perfectly but they are not noticeable except by close inspection. Vintage Wrought Iron Wall Mount Ceramic Tile Holder House Number Holder Now here's something that you don't see everyday! Especially around here- I think of these more with Spanish style houses. What I have is a vintage. Wrought iron holder. Made with the intention of mounting on the way, and to hold ceramic tile house numbers. You could do the same, or fill it with decorative ceramic tiles, or any other tile shaped material for that matter. It measures 17" wide in total and 12 1/2" tall top to bottom. The top has a bar that runs across the back through which you insert your tile. You can see there's a"shelf" for lack of a better word, that the tiles with then rest on. Measuring on the inside walls of the spot where you'd insert the tiles, the opening where you insert the tiles measures 12 1/4" wide ... moreby 6 1/8" tall, and is 1/16" over 1/2" deep(so a smidge over 1/2" deep- you'd be o.k. with a tile that is 1/2" thick or less) The opening of the frame alone(see what I'm pointing to in photo 18) is 11" by 5" so that's how much would show. Please compare my measurements to your tiles to make sure they will fit. It weighs 3 1/2 lbs. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's small spots of wear, scratching and scraping to the black finish, and light surface rust at those spots- it's surface only. Now, there's no holes for mounting on the wall, I was told that you hang by mounting the iron frame's curly-cues on screws in the wall. I took one look at it, and knew I'd have a customer who could use it- it's a nice vintage frame. Please ask if you have any questions. Antique Vintage 'ARCO' Radiator Wall Hung Cast Iron Hot Water Radiator 29X14
Here is a nice. Relatively compact cast iron hot water radiator that was removed from a home that dated from the 1920's; it was removed from a powder room. This is cast as one piece and is not sectional. There were no mounting brackets with it since they apparently used the plumbing pipes to support it. This has been pressure tested and shows no sign of leakage. This is an American Radiator aka'ARCO' Peerless' model. These were designed to be joined up with other'Peerless' units of the same size for more heating capability. According to the catalog. This should be adequate to heat an 8 to 10-foot square space. It has some flaky/loose paint(see pics) and the backside seems to have the original coat of paint on it. The bleeder is included. Though it will most likely need replacing. Antique Cast Iron Architectural Wall Mounted Eagle
Up for auction is an antique architectural wall mounted metal eagle recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. Originally black, it has been repainted white. There are some losses ti the paint throughout. It is made from metal and attracts a magnet. There are two mount holes in the wing area. A very nice size, it measures approximately 27 1/2" x 2" x 10 1/2" in size. Quite heavy, it weighs almost 10 pounds unpacked. A nice quality piece, there are no makers marks or any other markings I can find. Great indoors or out. The only condition issues to discuss are some minor rust spots, some along the wing tips. Vintage Post Box metal cast iron mailbox wall mount lockable peep windows
For sale is a antique or vintage cast iron mailbox. Approx 6" W x 12" T. It has a tapered from, goes from 3" deep down to 1-1/2" deep toward the bottom. The back is metal and the rest is cast iron. The front has the words Post Box, has lockable front and to peep holes. The back metal plate has a good bit of rust but no holes and is pretty solid. Original Antique Victorian Cast Iron Wall Sconce Oil Lamp Holder Mounted On Wood
Original Antique Victorian Iron Wall Sconce From Whitechapel. London Taken from a building renovation in the late 1990s and possibly the only one of its kind left from the area Description: Hello. This is an original antique Victorian wall sconce taken from Whitechapel, London, in the late 1990s. The item was on the ground floor of a building on New Road that was undergoing renovation from residential to commercial property(the street although once home to many in Victorian London now has many takeaways. Halal restaurants and cafes) The tenant was having a shop sign fitted to the front and when asked if the sconce could be removed from a covered side courtyard type entrance he happily agreed. The person who removed the sconce was the shop sign fitter. And fully aware of the significance of the item, kept it in his garage where it has remained ... moresince. There are no sconces left on buildings in Whitechapel- most having been damaged or thrown away- and it is very rare to find an original example of one from this area of London. Whitechapel is after all. The most notorious part of London having been the since of the Jack the Ripper murders. Although the sconce was retrieved from Whitechapel, the building's tenant did not know the history of the item such as how long it had been on the building, or when it was put there. In any case. Thankfully the sconce was rescued and persevered. It could now make an excellent collectors piece, or garden decoration for a large candle or hanging basket. Condition: The sconce has been repaired at the base part of the hinge. Look at the pictures and you will see a small patch of light metal that has been welded on to join together the two parts that had suffered a crack. The metal is pretty rusted and the oak wood mount is worn in places. It still functions and moves freely on the hinge. Shipping: All items are dispatched the next working day after payment. Originally the sconce was mounted on wood. But I have removed the wood mount because the wood was damaged, and not in the best condition. Condition: The sconce has been coloured gold at some point. I do not know if this was originally the colour when it was made in the 19th century. I sold a very similar one last month that was taken from the same building. And it was not gold. I JUST LOVE THESE PIECES. I GOT THIS ONE AND IT WAS IN TERRIBLE SHAPE. THE PORCELAIN WAS ALL RUSTED OUT AND THE PART THAT IS NOW A MARBLE GREEN HAD BEEN PAINTED THIS BROWN COLOR AND IT WAS HORRIBLY PAINTED AND NOT GOOD CHIPPING. I SPENT DAYS STRIPPING THE PIECE WITH CHEMICALS AND GENTLY REMOVING ALL REMNANTS OF THE PAINT BY HAND. I SANDED DOWN THE AREA THAT HAD BEEN ENAMELED. I THEN USED NAVAL JELLY TO REMOVE ANY TRACE OF RUST. ONCE IT WAS CLEAN TO MY SATISFACTION I BEGAN PAINTING IT IN A 3 STEP PROCESS I DO TO GIVE A MARBLE TEXTURE. I HAND BRUSHED THE PARTS THAT HAVE THE DETAIL TO GET THE COLOR TO LOOK LIKE IT DOES. THIS INVOLVES APPLYING IT AND THEN REMOVING IT MANY TIMES TO GET THE LOOK I LIKE. THE AREAS THAT DO NOT HAVE PAINT USING THIS PROCESS OXIDIZED THE SAME DAY GIVING BACK THAT NEW RUST YOU SEEN IN THE PICS. IT IS THAT FINE DUST ... morePOWDER NOT PITTING. THE ENAMEL AREA WAS TOUGH AND I HAVE LEARNED SINCE TO JUST NOT TRY USING PORCELAIN PAINT. I BOUGHT THOSE BOTTLES THAT ARE FOR TOUCH UP AND WHAT A NIGHTMARE TO USE. PORCELAIN PAINT DRIES ALMOST INSTANTLY AND YOU CAN NOT DO A SECOND STROKE. SO THE PORCELAIN AREA ENDED UP HAVING THE DISTRESSED LOOK. THE WELL OF THE PIECE HAS SOME OF THE GREEN PAINT I USED APPLIED BY SPONGE. I WOULD PREFER JUST GETTING ANOTHER BOTTLE OF THE PORCELAIN AND PAINTING THAT ALL WHITE HOWEVER WHEN A PLANT IS IN IT YOU DON'T SEE IT. I DID TAKE A PICTURE OF IT FOR ALL TO SEE. ANTIQUE ORNATE SPANISH REVIVAL GOTHIC ARCH IRON WALL GRILLE PLANTER BOX 37x26
Very beautiful. OLD(early 20thC) wrought iron wall grille with attached planter/flower box. This is an ornate piece in Spanish Revival style. It features a double gothic arched top with wrought iron rods laid in lattice fashion in between the two arches. A center feature of scrolled iron is accented with a center, turned finial piece. The window box/planter is fixed and welded to the arched grille. It is a generous, curved planter box with iron support rods on the bottom. The unit is in very good condition. It has beautiful, aged, rusty patina. The rust has not penetrated the iron surface and there are no holes. There is not a hanging bracket and the piece can be hung from the top arch or from the lattice side panels. This piece can be used either indoors or outdoors. Antique 1900's Cast Iron Wall Corner Shelf Cut-Out HEART SHAPES - General Store
This auction is for a very unique cast iron corner shelf that has cut-out heart shapes found in the bottom. I have never seen another shelf like this before. The previous owner(88 years old) claimed this shelf came from a general store located in Downtown Detroit on Sheridan Street. Her parents owned the corner store and sold practically everything imaginable. She said this shelf was always in the candy/confection area of the store and held various items through the years. The shelf measures 10" deep from the back to the front and 13" from side to side. It has the number 1102 stamped on the back. Minor surface rust as shown on both sides.
