It has made it a little difficult to see what metal they are. They are definately pressed metal/tin not solid copper or brass. We have for sale a Vintage Rear Large Flying American Eagle Brass Bronze Post Office Mail Box Door Bracket. It measures 11 inches in diameter and 6-1/4 inches in width. This particular one has an oak wood frame on the top. Bottom and back. The wood is split in the back. This can be removed. I don't know the combination but you can open it from a lever in the back. It has a nice raised design with the eagle clutching the arrows with his talons. It could use a little cleaning but I will let that up to the purchaser. You may like its current patina color. This antique metal piece is very heavy@ 4lbs. It has a solid handle attached to a rectangle hollow metal which has two holes on two sides- I think it might have been a hanging weight? for door counter weight or window? It might be brass- it has some green discoloration. It looks like it was hammered along the center on each side- maybe used as an hammering base? Would be an interesting paperweight or doorstop. A Fantastic Door bell! In actual fact it was fitted to ring a bell in the factory. This is a rare item! The push inside is superbly built from porcelain steel and brass. Circa 1940 it is in lovely condition. Almost perfect! It has a standard 3/4 inch conduit fitting hole. Personally I think these look wonderful in conduit. This sale is for the bell push shown!
