Large lot of quartersawn oak wainscot paneling Salvaged in Buffalo. NY Much of the paneling has white paint(looks to be 2 coats) some of the sections have original golden oak varnish. There are two doors each with 3 raised panels and a beveled mirror in the middle. There were two drawers at the bottom. This would make a great backbar. Bookcase, or butler's pantry. Up for auction is this beautiful. Very ornate, solid oak cabinet door. It was originally on an oak sideboard/cabinet Circa 1860-1900. The front of the door is a creme color which looks to have been painted years ago. This is a solid door. There are some nicks/wear as to be expected for age/use(doesn't take away from it's beauty) The carving on the front is in great condition. The sides of the corbels are carved. There is a nice finial in the middle. It measures 46 inches tall by 16 tall not including the top board. The body is 3 thick not including the molding. Overall. It is in very decent co ndition. There are misc. light scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. One foot is broken off and has some loss. Description This is an exceptional staircase that was salvaged from a Victorian Mansion in Clarion. PA. We have pretty much everything. Two newel posts. Railings, barley twist balusters, moldings, landings, and paneling. As you walked in the front door. The staircase was just ahead. You take three steps to the first landing. Turn right and up two steps to the second landing. Turn right and up 13 steps to the second floor. Turn right to hallway railing that is 153 inches long. Handrail going up 13 steps is 129 long. Landing 1 is 41.25 long by 40.25 wide. Landing 2 is 39.75 by 39.25. The steps are just over 7 inches high by 11.25 deep. My guy calls this a 7-10 rise. The first floor newel post is 85 inches tall with a paneled shaft. Carved cap and turned finial. The second floor newel is 51.25 inches from the top to the floor. It has carvings ... moreat the top and great ornate moldings and a big finial on the first floor ceiling. This newel post is nailed into the joist and goes through to the first floor ceiling. Everything except the treads and risers which are pine. Is made of 1/4 sawn oak and is unpainted. Exceptionally rare to find a staircase this nice that is 99% complete. Overall it is in very good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Some of the balusters were broken but we have all the parts. Completely freestanding if required. There are 3 beveled recessed panels on each side. Inside each triangular recessed panel are raised beveled panels with multi-ridged round medallions. It weighs about 38 LBS, measuring approx. 61 1/4 inches long and just over 22 inches tall. 2 3/4 inches thick. A DRAMATIC piece of gothic architectural salvage! Solid. Thick black slate blackboard/ chalkboard, original oak frame and custom made oak chalk ledge. Rescued 35 years ago from New York city police station that was being renovated. The chalk ledge is not as old as the blackboard. Which dates from the late 19th Century, circa 1880. In excellent, age appropriate condition, needs cleaning. This is a very heavy item, we are guessing it weighs a few hundred pounds. Total dimensions are 41 x 65 inches including the frame, which is 3" wide. The chalk ledge was made with a cut out to go around a pipe, so it has an odd shape on one end, please see the last picture. GIANT. Original, solid oak, beehive finial. Incredible primitive patina. Would also make a striking garden ornament. Salvaged from late, 19th century, Chicago church. To give a better idea of the grand staircase this was recovered from, I saved a piece of the original newel post that once supported it(last photo) Overall it measured over 7 feet tall! FRENCH ANTIQUE CORNICE- PEDIMENT- DOOR CRESTING. Fabulous door cornice hand carved in oak. Measuring 68cm long x 24cm deep. The cornice features two lions either side of a shield like crest which is topped with an overhanging spray of leaves. This overhang projects by approximately 4cm from the rest of the carving. It is totally complete. With no missing bits. There is evidence that the right hand bottom section has at one time been cracked but this has been very well repaired(see last photograph) In wonderful condition considering it's great age.
