Antique Cast iron balcony railing! This is original cast and wrought iron balcony railing from the late 1800's. It is solid with beautiful detail. This railing is in good condition. It has a lot of paint protecting it which. When sand blasted, brings out the beautiful detail. My apologies, the fence is pictured upside down but I suppose you could use it either way. Circa 1930 as it dates original to the house it was removed from. It was on the left side(as you are going up) Measures 62" total lenght. 46" center to center at the support mounts. Wrought Iron Wheels Cast Iron Hubs Matched Set on Axle Shaft Hit Miss Steampunk
This is a beautifully matched set of old wrought iron wheels. Still spinning freely on their original axle shaft. The shaft looks to be about a 1 inch diam. solid iron bar, about 24 inches long. The wheel diameter is about 18 inches. The hubs are oversized cast iron and still have grease in them. The spokes are wrought iron also. I did not see any obvious signs of distress such as cracks. Welds, breaks, heaviliy corroded etc. so I think we're goo to go on these. I also have a lot of other iron wheels. Some are a matched pair, but I don't recall ever seeing an axle shaft of this size. It's a little unusual, must have been some heavy weight for this size hub and shaft. Would probably work real well on a hit or niss engine or other old farm display. The rims have a slight crown to them- they roll very easily. Could also be used for ... morea set of steering wheels, since the geometry of the curved iron wheel rim will allow easy turning. The detail is all surprising intact. Sandblasting will make this piece look amazing. Any rust is surface rust. Solid and Heavy! This auction is for 3 sections of fence. One section is 7 foot long and 30" high The middle arbor/gateway section is 6 feet 8 inches The third section is 7 foot 7 inches long and 30" high In all approximately 21 feet. I got this from an old collector who said it came out of an old mill in south Alabama. The stone is almost 20" x 5" and the rest of the measurements of the shaft can be seen it the photos. Black Cast Iron Wrought Iron Railing Church for Pulpit/Podium front of church
Up for auction is a great item from a church possibly as an entrance to the podium or pulpit area. It is cast iron and weighs lots. It is 12' 6 1/2" long and approximately 2' 1-1/4" tall. There are two pieces of long railings and two pieces of gate. There are three crosses spaced out across the 12' sections. The gates measure 23 1/2" X 24 1/4" plus the flanges and are empty of ornamentation in the center. They may have had something inserted in them at one time or another. The two piece gate hooks into the end of the railing panel. The top is recessed. Making it great for an ornate or larger hand rail on the top. This would make great yard art or maybe it can be restored. I am selling as yard art at this price. This railing is to be picked up in Ferguson Iowa and will not be shipped. Vintage Ornate ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE PIECE Lot Wrought Cast Iron Grate Register
Two fabulous antique architectural pieces. I believe they were grates/registers for the home. So decorative and just the right size! The arched piece measures 13.75 inches tall and 10.25 inches wide at the base. The rectangular piece measures 11.5 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide. You can display them anywhere: hang them on a wall. Rest them on a shelf, etc. They have just enough wear to give them character- no rot. Just some light surface rust. The arched grate is missing a small piece at the bottom left corner and the rectangular grate is has a small notch on one side. Please look at my many photos and e-mail me if you have any questions.
