Up for bid is an original architectural antique cast iron barn roof star. When this start was p urchased several months ago. It was in two pieces, mai nly because the barn it was removed from had collapsed. After removing the rest of the roof from the bottom of the star I cleaned up the area around the break and had it rewelded. Today it is in perfect condition. With only a m i nor amount of rust showing around the repaired area. The star is ready to be remounted on a roof or a barn or house. The star is approximately 10-12" high and about as wide. Two iron"barn stars" and one iron"spinner" building stabilizers. Use to reinforce a building together. You would see the star on the exterior of the building, then the shaft would go thru the wall attached to a cable or lumber, going from one end to the other with another star or spinner on the exterior of the opposite side. Often just thought of as just decoration, but they have a very useful purpose. All are in good condition. With nice green and cream colors. Very nice examples. Great to decorate the country home, even still usable for another 150 years. Larger star measures 12" across. The smaller star 7" across and the spinner 14" across, shafts on the stars are approx. 20" long and on the spinner 29.5" long, causing them to weight in at nearly 20lbs. Built around 1880-1890 this building is in good condition and can be relocated. The building is approximately 12'W X 20'L X 14'H. It is two rooms with two doors on the front. The door on the back is gone. The interior wall is tongue in groove with a door in the middle. The interior lumber is in GREAT condition. Some of the exterior wood is in poorer condition mostly at the back of the building and some around bottom edge but again the interior wood is in great condition. The roof and floors are in good condition with the exception of one area at the back. Affecting about 2 feet of board where the door is gone. It sets on old conglomerate concrete blocks. A opening for stove pipe still in ceiling with outdoor pipe on roof. Great buy for moving or for old wood. NO LEAKS NOTED. Buyer responsible for complete removal of all materials.

Sometimes I list items that I find in one of the 700 boxes that are slowly being unpacked. This item. Has a rather different story. I saw a unusual looking"thing" when I was looking at an old wood lathe I had seen on Craigslist. It was old. The barn it was in was old, the man who had used the lathe was so old he had died from old age. I asked what the"thing" was, and was told it was a hay"spear.harpoon. I asked what did that do? I was then told how"back in the day" the trolley system used to store hay into, and get out of tall barns. I decided I needed to get the entire hay"system" and put it in my office. Which has a high wood beamed ceiling, much like a barn. I bought the lathe, and the double hay harpoon. Then I had to find a trolley. I know they are on Ebay, but I wanted to find the old barn ... moreand get it down myself. this is one of those things where"be careful of what you wish for. is sooo true. I found the trolley. In the old 100 year old barn, wood roof had holes in it, wood floor on the loft was rotten. But.there was the trolley, and the railing. Yep, there it was. way.way.way up there. in the dark corner looking down at me.taunting me. I drove the 50 mile trip home trying to think of a way to achieve the feat of getting at something 50 feet in the air. In a falling down barn. I began assembling my items I thought I needed. I did consider starting a small fire. a small one. and maybe the fire dept. would have a ladder truck.on the scene. and maybe. Just maybe. No, that would be wrong, and bad, and maybe a felony. or something. I will leave out the elaborate scaffolding I erected. But, think of teetering wood pallets, stacked up.and up.and up. Antique Louden? Double Hay Trolley Litter Carrier Feed Cast Iron Farm Barn
This is a rare antique litter carrier. It is a chain style track hoist similar to a hay trolley but is used for wider bins. It is unsigned but possibly a Louden which is the only manufacturer that I have found that makes these. It has moderate rust and does not work. It has been cleaned off and lubricated a little but the main bar does not rotate and is rusted tight where it goes into the hoist mechanism. Overall however it is in good physical shape and the two hook chains can be lengthen and shortened by removing a cotter pin and unwrapping the chain. Measures 65" long and 19" high(not including the chain) and about 13" deep. Sold as is. Thank you!

Antique Barn Pulley with Original Red Paint-Very Nice Primitive-Farm -Steampunk
This is an old Nae number 148 barn pulley. The wooded pulley is 6 inches across and the total length is 14 inches. It still has the old red primitive paint on it. I washed it and cleaned it up and if the buyer would like I could put a clear coat finish on it. But I think it might darken it and it would have a shiny finish. This pulley is a wonderful old primitive and it still works. There is a crack in the pulley, but it doesn't affect how it works. Shipping is $13.99.
