Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia. PA Church. They are made of oak and are unpainted. They have great Gothic arches. Quatrafoils and columns. Your bid buys the pair. One left and one right. Each measures 41 inches tall by 20 inches deep and are 2.5 inches thick. Overall. It is in good condition. Antique cast iron newel post This unique newel post is from the late 1800's. It has 8 sides with a Gothic design. It is solid with no cracks. Seated figure of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly is of antique years and dates from the c1950/60s. It and similar. Was part of a recent house London clearance and were all displayed in the garden. We are to believe they originated from france. In a terracotta over a stone. Superb portrayals with the grotesque figure in a seated crouched posture with a hand to the face with other hand holding a front leg. Mounted onto the rectangular terracotta base over the stone. It has an overall height of about 8.5inches. Base size of about 6.75 x 5.5 inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is very good with areas of chipping and wear with: a chip to an ear and an elbow to the arm to the face. Other minor areas of chipping. Antique Victorian Gothic fretwork tracery oak glass light lantern from a church
A beautiful antique Victorian Gothic Revival church lantern made from oak/ oak veneer and graduated frosted glass. The lantern itself is square profile. Measuring 6" x6" across the moulded oak framed top and 5.5" x 5.5" across the similar open base. The wooden structure stands 6.75" high, plus the hanging arrangement which is fitted to the original oak/oak veneer shaped central plate- this sill has its original tiny domed screws. The 4 original panels of frosted/sand-blasted glass are graduated from a speckled terracotta/rust colour at the top to colourless at the bottom, giving a lovely warm, mellow tone to the lighting. The panels are still held in by the tiny, original metal tabs and pins inside the oak frame. The gorgeous Gothic tracery fretwork panels are cut from what looks like an oak veneered board rather ... morethan solid oak(but I could be wrong) All this and the dark oak dyed& waxed finish are completely intact and original. There are a couple of tiny chips/ scuffs to the oak here and there which are inevitable given the age of this piece, but no faults to the fragile tracery and no splits, repairs or other problems. I bought this lantern from a church antiques specialist when I first moved into my Victorian Gothic house around 10 years ago and it has been hanging here and in use ever since. I had a very nice antique copper finish bulb holder with integral hanging hook fitted along with bronze coloured new(safe! flex and a very authentic looking Gothic style bronze finish chain with ceiling rose and internal electrical fittings for direct wiring to the household mains. It is 100% ready to hang elsewhere. Easily postable. I am aiming to keep the bubblewrapped, padded and strongly boxed lantern parcel to within the Royal Mail's'up to 2kg, medium parcel' rate. Hi! Up for auction is this awesome old/vintage Gothic/Tudor style metal mailbox with attached paper holder-in"as-found" condition-while there is some rust. This piece is fully functional. The front door opens, as does the letter slot. There is a hook on the right side with a hole for a lock to slide through. There is no maker's mark that I could find. I have done nothing to this piece save a bit of dusting-there are several layers of paint(black, brown, white, various greens)I'm sure it was originally black with a brass"frame" around the peephole/window in the front. Someone attempted to give it a shabby/cottage style look. There is a factory hole in the back for hanging. There are four raised squares running down each side and some across the top for decoration. 8 Beautiful Antique Victorian 3 CROSS iron fence TOPPERS Gothic cemetary garden
group of 8 Beautiful Victorian American Gothic authentic vintage old iron fence toppers. Each has 3 crosses. These were once painted black or silver, maybe even some green, which has oxidized, peeled and rusted off, giving a great, authentic vintage antique look and feel. Each section is approximately 12-13 inches long and the center cross is 5 inches tall. With the other two smaller crosses on each side being about 2 1/2 inches tall. As you can see in the photos, at the ends of each section there is a curved iron piece with a hole which would attach to the next piece, or fence, or whatever. These pieces are each bent in a different way, and I do not know if this is the way they were designed or if they were twisted from being removed or what. They are being sold as-is. As found. For sale is 3 beautiful. Antique wrought iron gates salvaged from an estate in England and recently purchased from an auction house here in the States. Circa 1890s-1920s. It was the inside molding that was around the front door. The legs are obelisk shaped and taper at the top. They have carved Gothic finials at the top. There is an arched molding that goes between at the top. This set would look great as part of a headboard or simply put on a wall. Antique Cast Coffin Handle Face Funeral Gothic Used - from Cemetery Move!
A little bit of creepiness from a unique collection. Authentic coffin handle- ornate cast metal with a face in the center. Measures 7" and is in perfect shape considering it was actually part of a disinterment and had been buried for a stint. Finish has worn off but otherwise solid and really rather lovely. It is in nice condition with a few old worm holes in the frame(bottom left) There are no holes in the carving only the frame so easily removed. There is also a small split at the top of the panel. Description This is a great lot that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of walnut and is currently painted white. There are 6 pieces of wainscoting. All of them measure 45.5 inches tall without the cap molding. Everything has Gothic linenfold panels and Eastlake beveled edges. The usable lengths are as follows: 81.75 inches 76 inches- there are holes along the top and one at the bottom that can be filled. 38 inches 20 inches- not including the section with 2 large holes. 25 inches- hole at bottom to be filled. 14 inches- hole at bottom to be filled. There are 3 other matching pieces shown. These were part of a window surround and one piece is badly damaged. They are included. Overall they are in good condition. Very beautiful. OLD(early 20thC) wrought iron wall grille with attached planter/flower box. This is an ornate piece in Spanish Revival style. It features a double gothic arched top with wrought iron rods laid in lattice fashion in between the two arches. A center feature of scrolled iron is accented with a center, turned finial piece. The window box/planter is fixed and welded to the arched grille. It is a generous, curved planter box with iron support rods on the bottom. The unit is in very good condition. It has beautiful, aged, rusty patina. The rust has not penetrated the iron surface and there are no holes. There is not a hanging bracket and the piece can be hung from the top arch or from the lattice side panels. This piece can be used either indoors or outdoors. They were originally part of a set of doors that were beyond repair so we removed the decorative elements. There are several quatrafoil panels. We also have moldings that form a Gothic arcade. The squares are 7.75 inches square. It is approx 9 feet of Gothic arches by 7.5 feet tall. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are some missing moldings and various breaks. The Gothic arches are molding pieces without any backing boards. You can see by the edge on the back side and the unpainted edges on the front that this was probably the panel from a cupboard door. There is a routed Gothic arch in the center. It has a worn coat of apple green paint on it but under that. The wood is very pretty. This would be nice to simply place on a shelf or mantel leaning against the wall with some special figure or object in front of it.
