Here's a south bend Finn-Oreno lure. Made of balsa wood Measures 2-3/4" long. Made in Finland. These lures have an odd lip made of Celluloid that's prone to deterioration. This lip in in tack. Lure is a great color with very little sign of use. Comes with box in ok condition. Still nice for collection. These are a rare find. With lip in tack. The main piece being bid on in this auction is the SouthBend lure. The wood body is in good condition with one scratch shown in the pictures. The glass eyes are intact. The hooks and spinners are rusted. The box is used but in good condition. The top and bottom are not crumpled or broken. The top has some dings but in pretty good shape for a used item. The rods are all in very good condition with no problems to the guides, tips or wraps. It appears that it has not been used or barely used and put away years ago. The cork section looks almost new, and appears to have no missing chunks. It still has the original foil label and looks good. Everything appears to be original with no repairs. Up for bidding is this Vintage South Bend 59-9 Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod There are four pieces with an extra tip. There is a South Bend decal with red lettering above the handle. This fly rod is in beautiful used condition with some wear to the cork handle. Each piece measures 36 3/4" long. There are no missing line eye guides and the wrapping appears to be very solid condition. I believe it is original. It comes in the original cloth bag, which is in good condition. I count 85 individual Hits, notched in groups of 5 Strikes each. I have never seen this before,and it gives you some idea of how often these were used in everyday life,back then. it has No restorations of any kind. It measures about 23 1/2" long. Two lovely large maps taken from a dilapidated 1922 Times Atlas. Each measures 54cm x 41cm approx. Excluding margins. Vertical centrefolds as published. Very detailed general maps showing settlements. Main political boundaries and terrain. A number of insets showing areas around Lima, San Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Valparaiso. Condition is good. The printed areas are bright and clean with attractive colour. There is mild discolouration along the centrefolds. The margins are toned and the ends of the centrefolds have been bumped with consequent creasing and small splits. Not impacting the printed areas. Between 1880-1920. The shell is decorated with elaborate scenes of tropical trees, animals and plants, interspersed with huts. The feet are done in the form of curled fish with great articulated scales. This could be used for holding rings on your night table, or as a candy or nut dish. The dish is unmarked. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be at least 850 purity silver. Possibly 900. The condition is excellent. The decorations are sharp and crisp. There are no breaks.
