Mostly delineated inland from the coast but with unresolved borders. The Maghreb is described evocatively as the"country of dates" and camel caravan routes across the Sahara are indicated. Offered here is an original 19th century album containing 13 large albumen print photos mostly of Egypt including the Suez Canal with ships. Port Said, Alexandria, The Pyramids and The Sphinx with others of the Roman ruins at Pompeii in Italy. The photos each measure 9 1/2" x 7 1/2" and the album 12 1/4" x 10 1/4" The album and the photos have been subjected to damp storage and boring insect damage and are in distressed condition as per my photos below. Some of the pages are loose. Offered here with a low price start and no reserve. Overseas postal costs could be reduced if the buyer wishes to recieve only the detached photos without the heavy album covers.
