It is from Everts& Kirk's The Official State Atlas of Nebraska(Philadelphia: Everts& Kirk. 1885) a very limited publishing. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The atlas is considered the first to compile and show in detail the various counties, cities and towns of Nebraska. The maps show many details including towns, townships, sections, quarter sections, schools, railroads, some houses, owners and other details. ... moreOn some maps there are signatures and handwritten script that were printed in the plate, many of these maps were originally procured from the Nebraska Survey offices and reproduced for the atlas. The maps were first printed by lithographic process and then the color washes were hand applied, often with stencil for the large fields of color over which the outlining was done by freehand, with an occasional hint of a brushstroke. The result is a very beautiful rare early map of the counties and towns of Nebraska. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as seen in the pics, photographed against a dark background. It is a strong double sided sheet with maps or town plans on each side as shown in the pics, so you would have to choose a side if framing. Overall, a very nice rare example in Excellent Condition. Also included is one additional sheet listing county office holders from 1870 to 1884 and many names of business men, professionals, farmers and local land owners who have assisted in the publication, a very substantial listing.
