It shows Indian reservations and even where there are regions where gold has been found. It’s marked 1861 Augustus Mitchell Jr. in the corner. This map is from Johnson's New Family Atlas. Published by Johnson& Ward in 1864. This antique authentic map shows Johnson's NEBRASKA DAKOTA. COLORADO, IDAHO& KANSAS by Johnson& Ward The map was printed on newsprint paper which has yellowed and has some areas of discoloration and age staining. Which can be viewed in the photographs. There is some water staining at the edges. There are also small tears at some edges. It measures just over 18 inches by about 14 inches. However. It's a wonderful old piece, and would be great framed, for a collector of antique maps. I am selling all of the maps from the Atlas. In separate auctions. Offered for the outstanding modern appeal of the printed image. In Good to Good+[or better] condition: couple small edge nicks. Displays moderate uniform age toning as typical(particularly for images printed on this type of paper during this era) There may be light scattered spotting or foxing, possibly small minor edge repairs on the back with small pieces of archival tape, some waviness to the sheet, light creasing which is not offensive to the eye, etc. ... moreAny defects may hopefully be clearly seen in the scanned image.
