These antique hand carved piece of wood are from a rocking chair that was made in the 1800s. I saw the original piece when it was together and it saw pretty small. Not child size, but small. There is a total of 12 pieces. Everything was carved to fit p eg in hole or dove tail type. There is original old green paint still apparent on several pieces.While totally weathered away on others. I had these for some time hoping to make hooks, frames or other cool thin gs. But now they gotta go. The two longer pieces are 35.5" long, the 5 skinny dowel are varied sizes from 13" 14" The intricately carved dowels are 2, 13" and 1, 15.5" The last two pieces are wood where the canning ran through. Vintage Original School Home Building Construction Model House Indiana Folk Art I am still listing new items from Indiana. And have a boatload of new things from the flea market too. Lots of primitive antiques, farm finds, folk art, and the usual wacky Maureen stuff- you don’t want to miss this week! I guarantee you won't find another one like this on ebay- or anywhere else for that matter- it's a one of a kind hand made oldee! I stopped at a sale in a very rural area in central Indiana and stumbled upon this beauty. The man that owned it told me that it had been used in the boys construction class at their local high school- it was a teacher built model. Used as a demonstration of the"guts" for lack of a better word of the construction of a home. Isn't it cool? At first, I thought it was a bird house- like a purple ... moremartin house or something like that- but then I realized no, it was different- no bird holes or front doors, and purposely exposed sides so that you can see the parts of the inside of the house. It appears as if all real materials were used- except for the chimney, which is carved wood, not brick, and there's some type of partical board under the roofing shingles- see photo 6, and there's a holed bead type board under the pitch of the roof- see photo 8. The rest is wood, and even faux wood(I think it's like a linoleum type? for the floor inside one space of the house. I can only put 24 photos in my listings- and I could have used 124 on this one- it will keep you looking for a long time. The house measures 18 1/2" tall to the top of the pitch of the roof, 22 1/2" tall to the top of the chimney. At the bottom of the roof, it measures 14" by 17 1/2. At the body of the house, it measures 15 1/2" by 10 3/4. It weighs a hefty 17 lbs and has its original grey painted finish that is rustic and worn. I know I know, it's going to be expensive to ship, especially to some locations- but it is so worth it, this one is too cool to pass up. Local pick up is

1870s HUGE Folk Art Architectural Church Finial Primitive OAK Newel Post Cap
GIANT. Original, solid oak, beehive finial. Incredible primitive patina. Would also make a striking garden ornament. Salvaged from late, 19th century, Chicago church. To give a better idea of the grand staircase this was recovered from, I saved a piece of the original newel post that once supported it(last photo) Overall it measured over 7 feet tall! Now, this architectural gem makes a breathtaking piece of folk art. It proudly displays its age and history. Apparently when electricity caught on, someone added a newel post lamp on top to illuminate the stairway. Cast Iron Folk Art Dove Gate Weight & Thistle " Very Rare"
For your consideration is a very rare cast iron gate weight in the form of a dove and a thistle gate weight. I believe they are from the early 1900's and show good wear. They could be wire brushed and soaked in linseed to bring out more detail and eliminate some of the rusty look but this is the way most people like it including me. The dove shows some crackely old repaint that only add to it's charm and measures approx 7 1/2 in by 5 3/4 by 2 1/2. It weighs between 4- 5lbs. The thistle does not have any paint but does show very nice detail and measures approx 3 3/4 x 2. The dove holds almost all of the value in this auction and is one of the most sought out items in the folk art category. It is the only one I have owned in over 38 years of collecting. This traditional bell ringing wheel is certainly a rare find these days. With a groove on the outside. The rope would fit in this space for ringing.In fact while searching the internet for a similar item I can across two, both in England with very high price tags, selling for about $350.00 US dollars. This wheel came from a local church that will be torn down soon. The church stands on the same road that General Lee used to retreat from the Gettysburg Campaign. I've been told it is at least 150 years old. This piece measures approximately 52" in diameter and has layers of wood joined by nails. FIVE DAY AUCTION This is a great looking. Very old, primitive. I got it several years ago at a little roadside museum down in Tombstone, Arizona. They were closing up and were deacquisitioning all of their items. This was labeled as coming out of an old Arizona courthouse. Over the years in watching old black and white movies I have seen similar things(but nothing exactly like this) on staircases(on the post at the bottom of a staircase) and also on a judges bench in a courthouse. If anybody out there knows exactly what it is please let me know and I'll share the info. Measures approx. 20 inches tall by 13 inches wide. Weighs 3.3 pounds. No breaks in the metal or glass. These likely came off a much larger piece. Perhaps a very ornate large cabinet, or a fireplace surround. They are the coolest! Intricately hardwood carved heads, each measure 4" Originally painted white they have been stripped and left natural. I would date them around 1870-1900.
