For sale 2 Art Deco Clay Brick Pavers. These are high quality clay pavers They weigh slightly over 7lbs each and measure 8" long by 4" wide by 2 3/4" tall. They are reclaimed and 90-100 years old and show slight signs of wear on them with possible minor chips. These pavers were originally used as street pavers and may show signs of darkening due to exhaust/oil which adds to the history of these unique pavers. Manufactured in Caney. Kansas. Approximately 350 antique used bricks. Bricks came from location of old brick and tile yard in Mazon. Illinois. Many manufacturing flaws including sugar loafing, lime inclusions, overfire, and some defects from being in the ground. Some are fire brick. These are not pavers, they were architectural brick, but not good enough to be on the outside of walls due to their irregularities. Sizes very dramatically from 4 1/2" X 9 1/4" X 2 1/2" to 3 5/8" X 7 1/2" X 2 1/4" Most are approximately 3 3/4" X 8" X 2 3/8" Some have lost 1 or more faces. Many are only chipped or have a corner knocked off. Color varies dramatically too. Including some deep brown, tan(fire brick) tan faced red, red, and some pink. For sale are dark red. Salt glazed, architectural bricks salvaged from a house built in 1914. We know there are more than 8000(we estimate about 8400) but we are selling all of them as a lot as if there are only 8000. On average, the bricks weigh 6.125 pounds and measure on average 8-5/8” X 4-3/8” X 2-3/8” The bricks vary dimensionally up to 3/16 of an inch. These are salvaged bricks so some are in very good condition while others do have chips and extra character. Please see the pictures for more. Available for pick up as well as shipping. ANTIQUE BRICKS FROM NEW YORK CITY
These bricks came from 47& 49 Third Avenue in New York City. The buildings were built circa 1838 and were demolished in 2001. The site was a continuously operating apothecary and pharmacy and later a medical laboratory. It operated on this site for 157 years. These bricks were from the original earlier portions of the site. I personally removed these and later era bricks from the demolition site as the building was coming down. Having worked at the site for 36 years. I saved them as momentos. It would be great if they could get a good home to aficionados of construction materials. 7 antique TIFFANY glazed white subway or fireplace tile bricks (circa 1902)
These bricks came from an estate outside of Boston. The dimensions of the bricks are approximately 12’ x 4¼” x 2 ¼” The outside finish is a white glaze or enamel. On the back of each brick is printed“TIFFANY” with the‘N’ reversed) andthe date of manufacture. Three of the bricks are dated 6-05-02. Two of the bricks are dated 7-05-02, and one of the bricks has the date 8-05-02. The year was 1902. As you can see from the pictures. The bricks are not in perfect condition, but for something that is 111 years old, are in remarkable shape. I was told by a dealer at the estate sale that Tiffany is highly desirable. That they are used to decorate fireplaces, but they are now repurposed in other ways, and that they fetch $75 each in the condition they are in($75 x7 = $525) That seemed surprisingly high to me. They were faced with some sort of bright orange brick that has completely deteriorated. The fire brick came from the kilns. Sizes very dramatically from 4 1/2" X 9 1/4" X 2 1/2" to 3 5/8" X 7 1/2" X 2 1/4" Most are approximately 3 3/4" X 8" X 2 3/8" Some have lost 1 or more faces. Pair of antique and vintage red Ohio paver bricks. The older antique brick is the one with the smaller lettering. It measures 3 1/2 inches wide. 7 7/8 inches long, and 2 1/4 inches deep. It weighs approximately 4 pounds. The other vintage Ohio paver brick with larger ornate lettering measures 8 inches long, 3 5/8 inches wide, and 2 1/8 inches deep and also weighs approximately 4 pounds. As there are small minor differences in all of these bricks(kinda like snowflakes) you will get the two bricks actually pictured in the listing. As of 2010 it had just over 4,000 people. In 1949 it was recognized as the"Blackberry Capital of the World" when the Chamber of Commerce sent a crate of blackberries to President Harry Truman. Two nice antique historic Nelsonville. Ohio salt glazed bricks with raised circles and triangles designs. Each brick weighs approximately 10 lbs. and in nice antique condition with minor edge chips. 2 Vintage EL Reno. Oklahoma Bricks These vintage bricks are in excellent condition. They come from the town of EL Reno. Oklahoma. Named after Ft. Reno which was established in 1874. EL Reno is just 30 miles west of Oklahoma City and has a population just over 17,000. On May 31, 2013 El Reno was hit by a deadly F 5 tornado which at one point the width.the largest ever recorded in world was 2.6 miles wide. 2200 Historic and Antique - Purington Paver bricks
Auction is for 2200"Purington Paver" bricks reclaimed from the streets of Minneapolis and sought after for their history. Uniqueness and durability. These Purington kiln fired bricks date back to the 1800's and are free from mortar and asphalt. Size is 8.5" X 3 5/8" X 3 3/4" and approximately 9lbs each. These could make a beautiful pathway, walkway, driveway, garden or patio that is unlike any other. Unfortunately I can not deliver or ship due to quantity. You will need to make arrangements for shipping on your dime. The bricks are on pallets though and I will band them together as needed. Well these were never put down on the road so they were never driven across and wore down. These came out of an old building, and after about a week of cleaning all the mortar off they came out pretty nice. They weight over 9 pounds each. Thurber, Texas - Bricks and the Decline of Thurber Antique Brick
Thurber. Texas- Bricks and the Decline of Thurber William Knox Gordan. Seeing potential in the shale mud found in Thurber, persuaded company president R.D. Hunter to build a brick plant in 1897. The bricks became popular all over the state, and the orders kept the plant running day and night to produce millions of bricks for many Texas buildings and highways, including Old Bankhead Highway(US 80) Austin's Congress Avenue, Fort Worth's Camp Bowie Boulevard, and the Galveston Seawall. The plant closed in 1931. By 1936, the town had been abandoned, and many of the buildings were dismantled. It had quickly become a ghost town. Today. Only about 6 original buildings still stand in Thurber, including the old Mercantile building(built with solid Thurber brick, of course) that now houses the SmokeStack Restaurant, and the 128-foot-tall smokestack ... morefrom the second electric power plant built in 1909, which gives the restaurant its name. Bricks made in Thurber were also used to build the seawall at Galveston after the disastrous hurricane of 1900. To pave the streets of Ft. Worth and even Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas. The Brick Tile& Terracotta Union(BTT) symbol impressed in a triangle was a union symbol for the Brick Tile& Terracotta Workers of America dating from 1903 when Thurber became a union town. This was a campaign started by Dr. Samuel Crumbine of Dodge City, Kansas after he witnessed tuberculosis patients spitting on the floor of a train. He was especially moved to act after watching one of these patients take a drink from a public drinking cup& then observed a mother giving her child a drink from the same cup without rinsing it first. Dr. Crumbine succeeded in abolishing the common drinking cup, the common or"roller towel" and spitting in public places. He served as the Secretary of the Kansas State Board Of Health from 1904 to 1924. I'm selling this fine pair of red bricks with"S&FBCo. frogs identifying them as the products of Sayre& Fisher Brick Company. Sayreville, New Jersey. One brick appears to have been darkened by kiln smoke and both have a lot of character, with some lightly worn edges on the sides and back. 2 Capital City Bricks Excellent Condition These bricks were made in Topeka. Kansas by the Capital City Vitrified Brick Co. According to an article published 10/22/1893 in the Topeka Capital News.The Capital City Vitrified Brick Co. was awarded the first premium for the finest brick at the 1893 World's Fair. These bricks were 3 times stronger than concrete due to them being made of shale& the extra firing process that they did. They were cut taken to a drying kiln that was heated by steam. Sat in it for 48 hrs then transferred to Eudaly Kilns and fired for another 9 to 10 days! Imagine the amount of energy/ fuel it took to make these bricks you would not be able to afford these today if they were made like back then. When the civil war broke out Mr. Kenyon enlisted as a private in Company K 15th Illinios Volunteer Infantry, serving 4 years& 6 days. In Nov. 1862 promoted to Capt. For one act alone does Capt. Kenyon merit enduring honor in the pages of history of the Civil War.With 600 men under his command he was able to hold off 9,000 Confederate Forces under the command of General Hood& General Stewart, thus alone saved Altoona Pass, the key to the rear of Sherman's Army. In the conflict he was captured and sent to Andersonville Prison for 5 months until his exchange. Chimney 100 ft. antique vintage red brick architectural salvage 1 million bricks
Want to own a 100 foot tall red brick chimney from the 1860's? Built during the civil war for the increased production at this New England Thread Mill. The Gardiner Hall Jr. Company Thread Manufacturing Co. Was built so high because the entire mill was originally wood fired for the steam processing and they needed good draft to keep the wood burning. Water power from the lake above provided the mechanical power to turn the looms,etc. I don't really know but guess there are close to 1.000,000 bricks in it. It is about 14' wide at the base where the walls are 2' thick and tapers to 6' at the top where it is about 16" thick. There is also a trash burning area at the bottom that you can somewhat see in the photos which has a steel door access which goes with the chimney. There is a copper cabled lighting rod protection ... moresystem in place that goes with it as well. Take it away and rebuild it at your place or sell the bricks or buy the whole thread mill building from me. You're responsible for all labor. Material, etc. required to dismantle this chimney and must a have a liability insurance policy naming me additional insured before work can begin. $10.000 for it all comes out to one penny per brick! Pair of antique marble bricks marked "PRESENTED BY STATE GRANGE 1899" rare!
Up for auction here is a pair of antique stamped marble bricks. Bothe bear the marking"PRESENTED BY STATE GRANGE 1899" on the front and"219" on the back. Dimensions are 8" X 4.5" X 4.5" and they weigh roughly 13.5 lbs each. Both show a lot of wear. With deep scratches, chips(Some rather large) and discoloration throughout on both. No chips larger than an inch across, though only a corner chip on each reach taht size, and no cracks whatsoever. NO RESERVE. Please make sure you contact me if you have any questions. Antique red bricks. 5 Coffeyville, KS. vitrified brick & tile co. Bricks.
I did some research on Vitrified Brick and tile company history. They were in business from the late 1890s and I think closed in the 1930s. I couldn't find any other information about them after that. I cleaned all of them. All say Coffeyville vit B& T CO. on them. Or just a V for vitrified. All have some chips here and there. But nothing bad. All have some concrete residue here and there. They measure approximately 8-1/ 2" long by approximately 4" wide by approximately 2-1/ 4" thick. These are very old and none are perfect. Because of the age and use they are being sold AS IS. I pack with great care. Shipping is a medium flat rate box. 4 Vintage Coffeyville Shale Brick& Roofing Tile Co. Bricks Last Brick Bottom Right Has Fingerprint Left By the Handler Before Placed In Kiln. These 4 bricks are in excellent condition for their age. This version was made from 1902- 1904. When in 1904 they dropped the R T/ Roofing Tile from the brick. So this brick was made for just 2 years. They are very tough to find in this condition most times they are worn down, the letters very hard to read. Not the case here! And a cool feature look at last brick bottom right has the fingerprint of the handler of this brick before it was fired in the kiln. See close-up last picture! Here are 3 fine old Coffeyville. Kansas bricks. These bricks are in great shape, with all the letters intact. And from what I have been told very hard to find where the letters are intact& not worn down from cars going back and forth on them. The first going from top to bottom is a sidewalk brick, the second is a construction brick, and the last one is a small street paver. Three nice ones to add to your collection or give as gift to that collector in your family.

This was a campaign started by Dr. Samuel Crumbine of Dodge City, Kansas after he witnessed tuberculosis patients spitting on the floor of a train. He was especially moved to act after watching one of these patients take a drink from a public drinking cup& then observed a mother giving her child a drink from the same cup without rinsing it first. Dr. Crumbine ... moresucceeded in abolishing the common drinking cup, the common or"roller towel" and spitting in public places. He served as the Secretary of the Kansas State Board Of Health from 1904 to 1924. The"Don't Spit Brick" was made in Coffeville, Kansas. And from what I have been told and researched it.every 5 th brick that was made would be a"Don't Spit Brick" These bricks were used to make sidewalks& wanted to remind people not to spit. Because if your dog or cat licked the spit of a T.B. carrier then your pet could pass the T.B. on to you& your family. This brick represents a nice piece of Kansas& American History.
