Vintage Brass Boston Building letter" L" Arts Crafts Steampunk Industrial Art
Up for auction is a Vintage Brass Letter"L" that was removed from an old building in Boston. This brass wall letter measures about 3 5/8" tall and about 2 7/8" wide" wide at the widest point. 1/2" thick. It's a solid brass piece weighing about 8 ozs. There are three threaded holes for mounting in the back(screws not included) or it can stand on its own. It's a nice piece of brass that has weathered some has some dings and scuff marks. For artists& creative people-this is a piece of antique Bakelite up for bid! This old piece is from the early to mid 1900's and probably was part of a lamp at one time. The old pieces of Bakelite were saved and are still in nice condition. This piece measures 5 1/2" long X 1" wide on one end and 3/4" on the other end-it is tapered so one end is wider than the other; it is an orangish-carmel color and in a sort of 4-pointed. Star shape. Huge Victorian Blacksmiths Forge bellows, Industrial, Steampunk, Elm Wood, Prop
These would look stunning in an industrial interior. Perhaps convert to a coffee table or just create a great talking point. Also ideal as a prop for a film set or how about a fantastic steampunk project? They definately have a Jules Verne look about them! Removed from a blacksmiths shop these antique bellows are in remarkable condition for an item of this nature and age. Very rare to find one of these where the leather isn't in tatters. There are one or two small holes and some rubbing but really very good considering(more detailed photos to come) The woodwork. Which I'm fairly sure is elm is very sound and secure, a few isolated worm holes but probably long dead and I've treated it anyway for good measure. The wood has been scraped and sanded to reveal a nice grain and then finished with high quality Osmo oil. Most of the studs, ... morewhich I think could be made of lead? are in place and secure. There is as you can see some heat damage to the nozzle tip but all the metal surrounding is rock solid. It'd be fairly straight forward to weld a new cone tip on if you so wished. They do actually work as intended. at least in the fact they project a good volume of air when squeezed. I was told they where originally suspended from the ceiling and operated by a long pull down lever. Which is included(photo later) Haven't got the exact sizes to hand at the moment but will update later. I'd say approx 6ft+ overall length. Obviously very heavy and will take 2-3 people to lift. I managed to transport them on a car roof rack quite easily though. I THINK I CAN DO A COURIER DELIVERY FOR AROUND £60 TO MAIN AREAS OF UK BUT PLEASE CHECK FIRST. Wrought Iron Wheels Cast Iron Hubs Matched Set on Axle Shaft Hit Miss Steampunk
This is a beautifully matched set of old wrought iron wheels. Still spinning freely on their original axle shaft. The shaft looks to be about a 1 inch diam. solid iron bar, about 24 inches long. The wheel diameter is about 18 inches. The hubs are oversized cast iron and still have grease in them. The spokes are wrought iron also. I did not see any obvious signs of distress such as cracks. Welds, breaks, heaviliy corroded etc. so I think we're goo to go on these. I also have a lot of other iron wheels. Some are a matched pair, but I don't recall ever seeing an axle shaft of this size. It's a little unusual, must have been some heavy weight for this size hub and shaft. Would probably work real well on a hit or niss engine or other old farm display. This basket was used in manufacturing probably to hold parts for washing. It is entirely made out of stainless steel solid round stock and mesh and then tig welded together. So it will not rust. As a part of this entire"steampunk" theme this basket could be reused for many things such as for hanging plants(it would be really cool to not plant the plant in a pot but to let the roots grow through the mesh around the entire outside) as a garden vegetable collecting basket and then you could rinse things out right through the basket, as a holder for your garden or car washing tools or for whatever your imagination leads you. Antique Barn Pulley with Original Red Paint-Very Nice Primitive-Farm -Steampunk
This is an old Nae number 148 barn pulley. The wooded pulley is 6 inches across and the total length is 14 inches. It still has the old red primitive paint on it. I washed it and cleaned it up and if the buyer would like I could put a clear coat finish on it. But I think it might darken it and it would have a shiny finish. This pulley is a wonderful old primitive and it still works. There is a crack in the pulley, but it doesn't affect how it works. Shipping is $13.99.
