It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Item up for sale is a Vintage antique metal box/ treasure chest trunk. It has no markings as to its maker or designer. It weighs 9 lbs and is over 12" long. It has 2 round handles and does have a spot inside where the paint is flaking away. This is a very cool piece. But you be the judge by viewing the pics.

Primitive Antique Large Wood Blanket Chest Handmade Rustic Dovetail Trunk
Selling this antique blanket chest. Appears to be handmade with typical style hand cut dovetailed corners. It has had the hinges replaced. Bottom has had tin reinforcement added. Top half of latch is missing. Cleats are present but no insert is included. Unique wood prop for the lid is attached. Brass on corners of lid. Steel wheels- I'm not sure if they are original. Has aged fairly well and is still a solid sturdy piece. Finish shows some wear. Boards have some cracking, etc. All items/conditions mentioned are shown in photos- please have a thorough look and ask any questions. Measures about 50" wide, 25" deep, 29 1/2" tall. For your consideration is this truly unique folk art decorated wood Carpenter Tool Chest. It has many carvings including 3 initials" MFA" on the raised top. The sides and front have carved diamond shapes and crude faux wood graining. There are several layers of old original paint giving this trunk its great patina. The chest measures 38 inches wide by 19 inches deep by 18 1/2 inches high. There are several metal parts in the lid which were used to hold tools. Hi. Thanks for visiting. I'm selling my antique steamer trunk because of the fact that we're downsizing our living situation. Otherwise, I would certainly hang on to it- it is really a nice piece. I acquired this at a local antique store about ten years ago and have kept it on display ever since. It is made mostly of wood. With some metal rivets and leather straps. I'm not sure when it was constructed, but it is definitely of significant age. It measures approximately 34" long by 21" wide by 24" tall. The trunk is obviously old. So it isn't in perfect condition. One of the metal buckles has come loose from one of the leather straps, for instance. I am not sure how old this trunk is. It is in very rough condition. Please see pics for your own judgment on condition. Some rails inside are missing and or broken off that I believe was for an inside tray. The two side leather handles are worn off. There are still leather loops around the trunk that I think the straps would have gone through to secure but the actual straps are gone as well. There is no key. There are 3 shipping stickers from address destinations still intact for the most part but are very difficult to read. 2 of them are from"American Railway Express" and the other says"Dominion Express. The outside of the trunk has a canvas like texture to it and may have been partially painted brown at some point. The trunk itself is real wood construction. From the inside the top of the lid has a paper type covering but ... moreis peeling and you can see the wood planks through it. The trunk has the traditional metal corners and trim work. I will say that the latches and center lock are pretty cool looking. The top is a little different than most of the trunks I have researched. I usually see a flat top or dramatic dome/curved top. This trunk has a slight curve to it that you can view from the side pics. Lastly. The pictures make the trunk look lighter because of the camera's flash than in person. It is a bit darker live. Antique Camelback Steamer Trunk Dome Top Tin Storage Toys Treasure Chest
This is a gorgeous antique camelback steamer trunk. It measures 33.5" x 19" And the dome reaches 20 3/4 inches tall. It has curved wood pieces with tin fittings, and it has wheels underneath. One of the side latches works perfectly, and the one on the left will fit closed but will not stay closed. I have not tried to close the main latch in the middle because I do not have a key. Note the older style slightly rectangular nailheads. Inside you can see some bare wood in places. But much of it is still covered by the original paper. You can also see two stickers that say Uncle Sam US Army standard 10 1/2. I have no idea what that refers to or their date. Just to the right of the right sticker, you can barely see the remains of the original sticker that was in the trunk. There is only a very, very slightly musty odor. Antique? Vintage? Black forest? Large Carved Wood Trunk Chest
Not sure of age or origin of this truck. But looks too be pretty old. Close look at carvings and some imperfections can bee seen, so i believe hand carved. Looks too have been painted an off white and then a dark stain over it in the past. Quite a few nicks and scuffs reveal this history of paint and stain. Back has a split and a piece missing from a previous repair. Some screws on the hinges look too be old flat heads and some are newer phillips heads. Has oblong round ball legs. Lid does not completely close, has a quarter inch gap in front, maybe from warping from age. Inside has removable tray insert. Wood has a strong, but pleasant smell almost like cedar, but not sure what type of wood it is. Trunk measures 30 inches wide, 18 1/2 inches tall, 16 inches deep. Please study pics too see imperfections in the piece. Could use a good cleaning ... moreand some stain touch ups. Trunk is very heavy and large, and i will keep at local pick up. ANTIQUE METAL EMBOSSED STEAMER TRAVEL OR CHILD TOY TRUNK, PIRATE TREASURE CHEST
Antique Trunk. Measures 16" wide. 10" deep, 11" high. Wood trunk with metal embossed skin. Barrel top with wood slats. Metal corner protectors. This trunk was probably either a steamer travel trunk. Or a childs toy trunk, I do not know for sure it's purpose. The latches are missing the top half, and the lock is missing the latch, so the trunk can't be latched. The hinges are in great shape and the trunk opens and closes easily. The leather handle straps are gone. The interior appears to be the original except it looks like the inside top was replaced with a pirate chest themed paper. All in all it's a beautiful antique trunk. Vintage. Cedar Trunk, Gray, Skeleton Key, Coffee Table, Storage, Shabby, Chest
Beautifully refinished. Chalk painted in a warm. Light gray, distressed, and clear waxed. Chest is in excellent, vintage condition. Very solid and sturdy. Wooden handles adorn each end, with a locking lid and original skeleton key. Metal bands with raised knobs are the perfect accents going down the top and sides of the chest. Plenty of storage inside this cedar chest. Manufactured by Universal Cabinet Company in Chicago, Illinois I have painted hundreds of pieces of furniture and sold them locally off line. I have never had a disappointed customer. Buyer is responsible for frieght shipping, including all packaging and insurance. This can be arranged by either you or me. Local pick up is also available. Chest measures 40" x 17" on top and is 16" tall.

No tray. No idea what era. No key. Leather handles beat up but not ripped. Dirty and smelly. Haha. Decent piece though. Banged up and sold as is. Nicks and scratches are plentiful. Please see pics. Antique LARGE Wood Steamer Trunk Chest 100 years+
This is one old trunk. It has brass braces at all corners and brass rivots throughout perimeter leather. The lock is still attached and all the latches operate properly. This steamer trunk has a compartment under the bottom for additional storage. Both leather handles are there but split into. This antique trunk is still solid for moving and storage/show piece. VERY LARGE measurements: 45" long by 27" wide by 28" high weight approx. 65 lbs to 85 lbs
