This grand arch once graced a fine estate during the late Victorian era. It favors a large central medallion type crest. Acanthus leaf with leaf and rose carved swags that are divided by bow ties. This huge piece was a focal point of a double parlor room as it separated the opening between the rooms. Very large and very heavy. Some damage is seen with minor losses to applied trim and rose blossoms. There is also fine white paint splatter, loss to a bow and an old age crack down the crest. The thickness on this piece is almost 4" Stunning and fabulous my dear. Belongs in an antebellum mansion like the one it came from. Wear is consistent with age. Well worth the price. The paneling and crown molding was taken out very carefully and the condition of the wood itself. Including the finish. Is mint. There are no knots in the wood. It appears to be black walnut but is actually a birch wood with a beautiful walnut finish. We can help load onto a low flatbed t raile r. Items are in the Carbondale. IL area of Southern Illinois, about 2-1/2 hours southeast of St. Louis, 3 hours north west of Nashville. TN. The jug is a chocolate brown color. Approx. 60 inches high, 45 inches in diameter at the la r gest part. The diameter of the outer t op rim is 25.5" and the hole at the top measures 16" The inner diameter of the drain hole is 3.5" and its outer diameter is 5.5" Don't know the exact weight but would guess it at 600 to 900 lbs. There is a chipped spot on the inside of the top ri m. Company name stamped on the jug looks like"GAW" with the letter"S" across the ... morecenter. These feet at least twice as big as the standard tub foot. They are original feet, not reproductions. Solid, heavy iron. Circa 1880s. Condition is excellent. No cracks. No chips to their spectacular plumage. They are perfect. They have distressed white paint which makes them perfect architectural elements or lamp bases. They have a bit of plaster on the backs from their original mount. Sometimes people use plaster to fill in gaps around the top of a foot if they don't want to see gaps. Every flange on reverse is perfect. The feet measure 11" tall from dolphin chin to upper most peak. They are 10" wide at the top. This a huge old steam boiler. I see patent dates of 1888 and 1911 on it. It is really cool looking as a sort of'steampunk artifact' Maybe someone would want to put it in a restaurant or lobby as a retro installation. It is roughly 5'8" tall. 3 feet wide, 4 feet deep. It's located in the basement of an old building in Charleston. SC. It is slated for removal by a demolition crew in the next month or so. They plan to sell it for scrap. I said I would try and find someone who wants to preserve it. It will be very hard to move, so if you want it you'll have to be prepared to remove it yourself and/or compensate the demo company for it's scrap value. To be clear. I do not own this.
