The lid, in particular, is ... morehard to come by! The skillet measures 10-1/2" to the of the handle. It is 6-3/8" in diameter. And it is 1-3/8" tall. It is marked on the bottom as shown in the photos- CAST IRON SKILLET, the large block Griswold logo, ERIE PA. U.S.A. and the product number, 709 B. The pan sits flat. There are some utensil marks and whatnot on the surface of the skillet, but I do expect that it will even out with use and additional seasoning. The well-fitting lid is the Griswold high dome plain cover. It is unmarked on the top. On the underside. There is a raised number 3, SELF BASTING, the large block Griswold logo, a long patent number, and the product number 1093. The lid has concentric rings which make the lid self-basting. It is in minty condition. Please examine the photos as to the condition of this beautiful set. The dragonfly is not included; he just happened along for the photo opportunity. I cleaned both pieces to bare iron and seasoned them with one coat of Crisco vegetable shortening. The set is ready for use or display. Shipping: $15. We have many cast iron skillets. A group of eight matching circa 1900 cast iron"snowbirds" 12" long plate with 3 1/2" by 6 1/2" fan shaped"bird" Made by F W PETER& BRO. NEWSIDE, PA. they are marked with a patent of August 12, 1902, marked around the center piercing on the bird. These were used in Northern states to break up heavy snow and ice from the roof. It helped with the weight of the snow on the roof and prevented large sheets of it from crashing down on those below. Growing up in Ohio, I remember seeing these staggered along the roof edge on grand old slate-roofed houses. The eight birds all have some surface rust and roughness from years of service but they are all still perfectly sound and ready for another 100 years of watching over your house. ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUE CAST IRON BARN ROOF STAR
Up for bid is an original architectural antique cast iron barn roof star. When this start was p urchased several months ago. It was in two pieces, mai nly because the barn it was removed from had collapsed. After removing the rest of the roof from the bottom of the star I cleaned up the area around the break and had it rewelded. Today it is in perfect condition. With only a m i nor amount of rust showing around the repaired area. The star is ready to be remounted on a roof or a barn or house. The star is approximately 10-12" high and about as wide. There are two flange ends w hich still retains a few of the original nuts and bolts to fasten it back on a roof. Shipping and insurance will be $18.00 due to weight alone. Antique Cast Iron Shelf Brackets Door Corners Iron Works ornate industrial vtg
I am really not sure what to call these. They might be large shelving brackets but I think they went in the corners of a large door or entry way. This auction is for the pair of them. Each one measures 21 inches by 21 inches by 31 inches across. One of them is in perfect shape the other has two cracks in the ornate section however is still solid. I thought about welding those two parts but thought I would leave it to the next owner. I was going to put them in the corners of a door way but they were just to large for that entry.
