It had a couple of old worm holes but these have been treated and it has been waxed, it is beautifully deep carved with leaves and flowers and measures 89.5 cm long, 37 cm high from a level surface and the centre carving is 31 cm high.

Title Antique French Carved Walnut Panel, This is a lovely old French carved panel dating from the late C19th or early C20th. It is solid walnut with a separate frame around and a back panel on the rear. The carving is very nicely executed and depicts an urn with fruit. Acanthus leaves and flowers. It is in nice condition with a few old worm holes in the frame. There are no holes in the carving only the frame so easily removed. Where the frame is fixed to the back it has come loose on the corners. We have not re-attached this as you may want to remove it anyway. There is a split in the bottom left corner of the panel. Wonderland Relics Description: This is a massive frame that was taken from a 200 year old house. It could possibly be a gesso frame I am not really sure. I have left everything as is including the nails and taken close up pictures but if you still have questions please let me know. 18th Century Carved Female Figure Western Indian India Wooden Architectural
You will not find this very often! You are looking at a carved and painted wood female figure. It is 24.5 inches tall. About 7 inches wide at the widest part, and about 4 inches deep. I sent photos to the"value my stuff" appraisers to get an idea of what this is. They say it is an attendant figure, or a dancer, that was probably part of an architectural element. They say"it is a good example of the characteristic western Indian style, as typified by the buildings of Ahmedabad" Imagine- made in the 1700s! The patina is fantastic. So thick and dark that the wood material almost looks metal or iron. There is a round metal"hook" in the back. Weighs 4 pounds and 6 ounces. Buyers in Virginia pay 6% state sales tax.
