It is in incredible condition for its age and really looks like it could be a 2012 edition, rather than a 1952 edition. Original Vintage 1960's United Airlines Hawaiian 3D Tiki Relief Map Display. 36x26x1and1/2 inches wide This would have been used in a travel agent office or airport ticket area. Made from a hard polyester,the islands of Hawaii are in 3D they stick up from the map, the frame looks like carved wood, very strong, Fantastic Shape for it's age, this has some minor issues. there two chips it he plastic. They are hard to notice while displayed. Look at the photos and ask any questions.The piece still is strong and holds together, these are Great for Tiki rooms Very Hard to Find in any condition not many left. There are a few scraps and scuffs on the map on the thick red strip underneath the actual map. But those defects do not effect the map. The actual map looks great and doesn't have any defects on it. The bar that holds the map is a little rusted. The map is 51" wide by 55" tall, but with the bar it is about 56" wide. Please ask any questions before bidding. I believe the map was made for the tray because the border of the US fits perfectly inside the tray. Cloth stitched. It measures: 40"102cm x 30"76cm. As can be seen. It originally cost 1 Shilling. As there are no dates on the Map, this helps date the Map to before 1971(decimilisation in the UK) it is probably from the 1950s/60s. The condition is Very Good; it has not been pinned up. Ripped or marked. In the last photo you can see the reverse of the map and all I can find is a couple of very small holes at the fold points(normal for a map of this age) I have also included the original red wrapping paper that would have come with the Map; see third photo and note that it is no longer connected fully.
