Please be aware that these National Geographic Maps are anywhere from 20 to 80 years old. They are printed on paper that is not acid free and in most cases have not been stored in the best way. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders of the maps may also have small tears. This is a large 1892 Railroad Map of Oregon. It measures 25 X 17 inches. This map has listed the railroad companies and area in which they cover. See top lower scans. This map is genuine. Not a copy or reprint. It is in absolutely perfect condition. Nicest we've seen in over 25 years of selling maps. Map was taken from the Cram's Railway Atlas which is near impossible to find and very expensive when found. All maps are sent carefully rolled in a secure pvc shipping tube by priority mail. We take special care in shipping these maps as there are no replacements. Your map will be rolled in kraft paper. Then taped to apply enough pressure to keep map from shifting in the tube and possibly dulling the edges. We also insure each map for it's full value. Made approximately 105 years ago. Printed in the early 20th century, on quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness. In near VG or better condition. Some very gentle toning to edges which is hardly offensive[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws] A monumental. Almost wall-sized map, not to be confused with the much more common small quarto-sized maps more frequently seen. This huge map is overprinted in colors to depict the numerous railroad lines then in use across the state, which corresponds to a key at the top. Sheet measures c. 27" W x 18 1/2" H. Most of the time any edge splits are short. Minor, insignificant and have been closed- either long ago or more recently with small pieces of archival tape. Most often these splits are trivial and easy to overlook visually. Basically, they would not significantly affect the piece adversely. The item is offered as seen.
