Map measures about 30" by 40" when unfolded. Can't find a date of production- only the"Copyright L-442" seen in photo( From some internet research. I'm guessing this was produced in the 1930s or 40s. Reversible as seen. Some tenuous spots along the creases with some separation- hopefully photos can speak to where creases are tenuous. The cover is not as blue as main photo- product of flash photograph, but other photos have true color.

A hand coloured engraved strip road map on thin hand-laid. Watermarked paper and titled The Road from Monmouth to Lanbeder and published by John Ogilby in his‘Britannia’ in c.1698. This is sheet 77 showing the route from Monmouth to Lampeter passing through Abergavenny. Brecon and Llanimdofry and numerous smaller settlements. The map, which has a title cartouche incorporating the royal coat of arms and a decorative surround incorporating putti and goats, measures approx 420mm x 330mm with margins beyond and is blank verso. The condition is very reasonable with some light toning and creases as well as some discolouration to the top margin above the title cartouche and a repaired split running through the title cartouche which is noticeable but not particularly detrimental to the overall impression(see photograph) Offers considered. Illinois 1930’s and an Illinois Official Auto Trails Map form the early 1920’s. All are in as found used condition. The Illinois MobilGas map has a circle around the town of Waverly. Ill. and the Auto Trails map has separated from it’s cover and has an approx. 3 in. tear in that area plus shows edge wear from use. Sells with no reserve.

It has Scotland and Southern England on one side and the Middle of England on the other. Although there are some dirty marks in places it is still quite clear. The cover looks a bit grubby and there are some scuff marks on it.
