Vintage Cleartype United States Railroad Map #717 - Wall Map - Nice Condition !
This is a vintage"Cleartype Railroad Map of the United States. This is a wall map measuring approximately 44" x 64" I have been unable to locate a year of the map on the map itself. Map no. 717" is printed on the front. The map lists the railroads in the index. Many of which no longer exist. I am most familiar with Northeast railroads and it lists railroads that were defunct long ago(i.e. New York Central, Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley, CNJ, New York, New Haven& Hartford- just to name a few) Overall the map is in nice condition, but it does show some signs of aging. There is some yellowing along the edges and back. The edges are a little rough and wrinkled in areas, but I didn't notice any significant rips or tears. There is also what appears to be a pencil mark on the back of the map. This map would make a terrific ... moreaddition to any map collector's collection or for display in a"Train Room. VINTAGE HAND EMBROIDERED FLORAL AMERICAN MAP. BACK SIDE OF PIECE This is such an amazing piece that is going to look absolutely stunning once it's reframed. Dated 1961 and signed in embroidery by the creator: To Bev With Love. Mother. I don't know who the stitcher was of this piece, but she did a fantastic job. It is cotton stitching on linen. The detailing of all of the State flowers are perfectly gorgeous. The base shade of the linen is a rich ivory/antique color. The embroidery is done in a vast and fantastic array of different colors. The condition is still very good; It will look even better once its reframed. On the fabric that is on the outer border of the piece, there are some spots and yellowing from the previous framing. There are no holes or missing stitching in these piece. The fabric is still sturdy. In the embroidered ... morepart of the map I found one small, pale spot that is hard to see.It is up near the Canadian border between North Dakota and Montana. Hard to see and definitely doesn't detract from the overall lovely looks of this vintage piece. Antique 1864 Johnson and Ward United States Large Map in Vintage Frame LOOK!
Hi I have up for auction a antique map from 1894. This is by Johnson and Ward and is of the United States. Has hand coloring and is very cool. It is large as well and is framed. The piece is around 18x26.5 inches. The frame is from the late 40's early 50's. Map and frame is around 30x21 inches. Frame hs nic's and scrathces and dings. Please look at the photo's to see the maps condition. Around the outer edges around the map there is chipping and small tears. Has a center fold which makes me think this was in a book. Has typical yellow from age and some browning from age as well. I am not a map dealer. But if you look at the photo's this still looks very good. This map was made during the civil war period. Vintage 1914 School Pulldown Wall Map-United States -W & A K Johnston-Unrivaled
Here for sale is a vintage map published by W& A K Johnston in 1914 as part of the Popular America Edition Series. It came with several similar maps from the"Unrivaled Series" of 1914 published by Johnston. I obtained this map and 6 other maps from a collection of maps used in a one room school in Welch. Minnesota. The maps had a slight odor of age which has improved substantially since I took them out of their holder. The map measures about 38 by 48 inches. And has rollers on each end. The map has condition issues as shown in the photo. Including tearing and scraping, mostly along the bottom, and along the extreme edges. There are some small tears in the map too. Map has some staining or darkening, again mostly along the bottom, and could use a cleaning. There is a vertical crease in the center of part of the map and some light ... moretearing there also. Please see the photos to observe condition. The colors on most of the map are nice, and so some restoration would be helpful. I will be happy to combine shipping upon multiple purchases.

Chart still rolls up and down fluidly and its original wooden rod is attached firmly to the bottom of the chart. Attached to the wooden rod is a metal pull hook. This map would look great hanging in your library or study or would serve as a great educational work of art in your child's bedroom! Geography is awesome.
