Meaning that they could be removed as a single intact sheet. The maps have a single fold in the center. This is the first Stieler Atlas to have been printed using the lithographic method. This is a complete. Early 20th century two-sided dissected wooden puzzle map of the United States and territories, made by Milton Bradley Co. The 63 piece, 48-state map includes insets of Alaska, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the Philippines. It is brightly colored and shows major railroads, rivers, state capitals and major cities. When this map was made circa 1905 the capital of Oklahoma was Guthrie, later moved to Oklahoma City(1910) In Idaho, Boise is Boise City. The map measures 20" wide by 14 1/4" long. On the other side of the puzzle is a chart of the flags of the world with Uncle Sam carrying the map. As you can see, all of the pieces are there. On two of the puzzle pieces the small pointed tip is missing. We do not have the original box.

You are bidding on: Rare 1905 Map Of The SAN JUAN TRIANGLE Ouray- Telluride- Silverton ~ The Clason Map Company ~ This exceptionally rare pocket sized folding map extends to approximately 36 x 40.5" From the sources I was able to find online, this is toted as being a quite rare map of the areas of Ouray. Telluride, Silverton in Colorado ~which lists the extensive mines and claims within the areas. Not sure if they're all gold mines and claims ~ or other precious metals like silver ~ and/or minerals like coal being documented as well. The folded map still retains ... moreits front and back covers, but the front cover is seperated from the back and is loose. The inner map was used in the field and shows wear. Tear, and repair. The map is in two layers.the frontside with the printing/ and the backside which is a waterproof layer ~ specifically designed this way to keep the map safe in the field and in possibly wet environments. The map is primarily clean. Staining or darkening has obviously occurred in places where tape was used to reinforce tears. Nevertheless.
