The decorative and well-executed globe depicts the Earth as it was known during the age of exploration. The stand and meridian are made of brass, stamped Japan. The globe is a reproduction of a 16th Century Mercator globe with hand applied paper gores. It was probably made some time in the 60s or 70s. Glass Ceiling Light globe fixture Antique/vintage 12" Hand painted 10" fitter
This is a vintage 1915-1925 hand painted glass ceiling light globe in wonderful condition. The exterior has been hand painted with a rural scen e. One side depicts a farm setting with house and barn with trees; the opposite sho ws a road curving through trees. The two scenes are separated by water with a likeness of a sail boat on the surface and hills in th e distant background. The glass itself is frosted over a co arse surface that reminds one of ice-chipped glass. The paint has no loss and the colors are rich and vibrant still. There is one thin fitter c hip that barely breaks the surface of the edge and would never show. The globe about 12"W X 6-6.5" H with a 10" fitter. We are providing photos of every perspective both with and without flash to give the viewer a good feel for both the quality and condition of this piece. ... moreThis globe will easily weigh over 4 lbs. when packed. The item is quite nice but the paint on the upper unit has been touched up or discolored from heat, check out the pictures. It has the original pyrex glass with the red Coleman emblem, very nice to cracks or chips that I can see. All of the parts appear to be here and the pump seems to work properly. This item stands roughly 4 1/2 inches tall. I am not sure of the exact age of this item but as it still shows Tibet on it it has to be at least 1950's or older. Condition wise this item shows 2 dents that I can see and part of the globe has what looks to be old tape residue on it. The bank also does not have its bottom stopper. Vintage Ellis-Barker(England) heavily silverplated treen handle tea caddy or box. The globe form caddy is fully gadrooned throughout. It measures 5 1/2" height to the top of the handle x 4 1/8" diameter at the midsection. The tea caddy is in very nice condition with no dings or dents and virtually no surface wear or silverplate loss. The inside is clean and free of odors. Stands straight and solid. KAISER "Universe" World Globe 400 day Anniversary Mantle Clock vintage 50s RARE
This is an extremely rare and much sort after Original KAISER Universe World Globe 400 day anniversary mantle clock. No more than a few thousand were made. Engraved on the back of the movement is J. KAISER G.m.b.H. Germany. On the brass plate is KAISER UNIVERSE GERMANY. Not many are availiable. They started production around 1954- 1962 and are said to be"probably one of the finest 400 day clocks ever made. In good condition. The base is showing some wear. Original glass dome with one small flea bite at the bottom edge- you can't even feel it! No other chips or cracks. Perfect globe of the world acts as the pendulum and the star on the top adjusts the timing. Clock face and dial are in very good condition. So too the columns. Wonderful blue face with some astrological signs and a small moon that turns at the top. The small moon has ... morea slight scrape in the paint. See photos. No key will be sold with it. But it is working, gaining about 30 mins a day so will need to be adjusted, but I am not experienced to do this. There are plenty of instructions and keys available on ebay. Sold as is. For sale is a vintage blue glass celling light globe light fixture with a frosted blue finish coating. This globe is in very good condition with no chips nicks or scratches see picture. The glove is 11 1/4" wide from end of glass bubble to end of bubble on other side. It is sundered by 1/2" wide solid glass bubbles. Gorham Silver plate oil lamp antique vintage collectible hand blown glass globe
You are looking at a beautiful old oil lamp. One more item I have found packed away in a box I inherited from my grandmother. It is in great condition. It was kind of tarnished up when I unwrapped it but has polished up unbelievably beautiful. I am not sure if the glass globe is hand blown or not. It is in perfect condition with one very very faint scratch on the glass that you have to hold up to the light to see. It has a cut glass design on it of slash marks that go back and forth and then goes to a straight cut with a little ball on the end that goes up the glass. On the round stem piece it states made in USA Thomaston Conn. I believe it is probably in perfect working order however it will need a wick. Unimet GL-1 Lantern - nickel plated - vintage 1950's - original globe - nice!
A nice Unimet model GL-1 white gas pressure lantern made in Hong Kong by Union Metal Works. Probably in the late 1950's. It has some very minor wear to indicate it's age, but has amazing nickel plating and looks great. Red enamel top ventilator cap is perfect with no chips. Untested for actual burn operation, but it's clean and complete with all parts. Excellent rugged build quality, has the original green logo globe as well. An intersting and unusual vintage lantern for your collection. Displays very well. I will only ship within Canada and to the USA, using Canada Post expedited parcel service with insurance as the preferred method. At one time someone etched very lightly some numbers into the bottoms paint. The ventilator enamel is polished nice. It does have a chip in the enamel and a couple darker spots in the enamel. I’m very pleased to offer this striking 1941 chandelier by Globe Lighting of Brooklyn. New York. Historically. This is a fascinating fixture. The frosted white shade(it looks pinky in the images, but really is white) is called slumped glass. Slumped glass shades were introduced after WWII. And became ... morepopular. Wildly so. Before the war, cast glass shades were the norm. This fixture is the only pre-war fixture I’ve ever offered with a slumped glass shade. And what a shade. It is. Again, frosted white and features lilies. In the 1941 catalog image(see picture) the lilies are much more pronounced. I doubt they ever were as such in real life(the catalog image is a drawing not an actual photograph) The finial is also amazing. It is a hand-blown sphere. It is also a switch! Which works! You can turn on just one bulb. Three, or all four. In the days before dimmer switches became common(a post-WWII development) the ability to control the amount of light must have seemed a technological wonder– the very acme of modernity. FOR THE LIGHTING GEEK: The cast metal socket cluster(see last image) is wildly over engineered. You would think it was designed to support a bridge and not four Bakelite sockets! I’ve never seen sockets held in their own custom. Cast cups. Yep, pretty cool. Above the shade is a fountain effect with eight delicate glass spheres(I love it) And above that is a cast glass flourish. The metal components retain their distinctive Globe finish which is sorta b

This listing is for a Vintage Mid Century Modern Swag Ball Orb Ceiling Wall Fixture Globe Cover. This piece is made of fairly thick glass and measures approx 6 inches tall. A top rim opening of just under 3 1/4 inches across the outside of the rim and measures approx 6 inches across the widest point. This is the kind that the fixture that it fits in to will have 3 screws to tighten/loosen around the slightly narrowed inner rim. It is in great shape with no chips. Cracks or other issues but are a bit dusty do they will need a good cleaning. This does not have any maker markings and I know its old but not sure exactly how old.
