Includes features like sun's declination, trade routes and noteworthy achievements like the first to reach the North Pole. Excellent for display or historical reference! The George F. Cram Company is still one of the nation's leading publishers and manufacturers of maps. Atlases and globes. The Company was started in 1867, and began making globes for homes and schools in the early 1930s. These were made for both the home and school markets and came in a range of sizes from 8" to 16" in diameter. The product line included"Cram's Universal Terrestrial Globes" featuring a choice of sizes and styles of mountings. This globe is one of that popular line. At age 79 in 1921. Cram sold his company to one of his largest customers, E.A. Peterson. Peterson merged it with his own business, the National Map Company, and moved the business to Indianapolis, Indiana. Peterson changed the firm's name to The George F. Cram Company in 1928, the year in which Cram died. Photos serve as description- sold AS IS. It has been there since the 60’s at least. I figured this light went on a boat. But I was not sure. I searched the internet and could only find clear ones labeled stern light. So I am guessing this is a port light since the globe is red. The globe has no chips or cracks not even around the threads. It has the letters, WC embossed on the top of the globe, which according to my research stands for Wilcox Crittenden, a large boat parts manufacturer. The light measures 5 ¼” tall. The base is 2 ¼” across with three mounting holes. The bulb(1130) was in it when I found it. The socket is in excellent condition with no corrosion, but it does need to be re-wired. ... moreThere are some spots/blemishes on the base, which can be seen in the photos. When I attempted to remove the cork this morning, well, it broke about 1/2 way down and is in the bottom of the thermos! LOL I think once this was cleaned up. It'd look pretty cool. Couple small scratches on the front, but that's minor. Totally usable. Comes with a FREE broken cork on inside of thermos. Reminds me of a thermos grandpa used to take to work. So. Up for auction is this collectible and desirable vintage Coleman Lantern! I believe this is from 1951 as the bottom is marked 12 and 51. This measures about 12-1/2 inches tall and 5-1/4 inches wide at the base. This shows scratches. Chips, stains and some rusting. The globe is free of any cracks but does have a heat mark. I do not know if this works but it appears that it would. All moving parts move freely and it appears nothing is missing. Circa the late 1920s or the early 1930s and made by J.B. Chatterley& Sons of England. This butter or caviar dish is electro-plated nickel silver, rated A1(as indicated on the bottom) A1 denotes the highest quality of the manufacturer(usually the thickness of the plating) J.B. Chatterley& Sons quit manufacturing in 1936. So the piece pre-dates that. There is a little. Scalloped handle on the globe top which rolls back to show whatever is being served/held/stored in it. A small section of the silver at the very top has worn away. As has some on the bottom. The wear on the bottom isn't seen if the piece is simply sitting on display. There is some tarnish which undoubtedly comes off if you have the patience to clean it. Overall, the piece is in very good shape given its age. Vintage black kerosene oil lantern. Looks like barn type or railroad, not sure which one. It is in fair condition and the glass is good. It appears to have been repainted and the fill cap looks like some sort of plug. This would be good for display. The glass has air bubbles in it and there is an imperfection line that is not a crack. VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL KEARFOTT GLASS COMPASS GLOBE FOR DISPLAY DOME GARDEN CLOCHE
5 3/4" high. 4 7/8" exterior diameter, 4 1/8" interior diameter clear glass globe marked KEARFOTT COMPANY at the top of the dome. At first we thought that it was a bulb cover from an airport runway, but during a visit to a military surplus yard, the owner showed me a military compass enclosed in one of these globes. No chips or cracks, a little paint residue around the base that can be scraped off with your thumbnail or a knife. The molded glass is rather thick with a few ripples in the surface. The base is lightly frosted from being ground flat- a cool industrial item just to put on your desk with something underneath it. Makes a great garden cloche too- practical because it is made to be shatter-resistant- heavy for its size, it weighs just under 2 pounds. Antique/Vintage National Lightening Rod and Purple Globe
This is 5'6" tall. With the weathering from atop of a Wisconsin farm barn, this piece is still in nice shape to use or display. The Purple Globe is raised embossed with National company on it. I have five that I will be listing one at a time unless otherwise suggested. Also On the shipping, If I can bend the legs inward It would mean a smaller box and less for shipping. Also if I ship the legs, rods, and globes in different boxes it would also mean less shipping cost.
