Printed on quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness. A monumental. Almost wall-sized map, not to be confused with the much more common small quarto-sized maps more frequently seen. Overprinted in red to identify and show the locations of the extensive railroad systems then in existence across the state. In VG. Mostly clean condition, some gentle marginal toning[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws] Will look very nice for display once framed. Sheet size measures c. 20 1/2" H x 28" W. Engraved area c. 18 3/4" H x 25 3/4" W. Folio. Original fold line as issued. ... more18828] Any defects along the sheet edges and in the margins may be seen in the photos. note: All old sheets of printed paper possibly have short edge splits. Each sheet has existed for a very long time and has probably been handled repeatedly in the course of it's existence. It has a history unique to it as an object. Most of the time any edge splits are short. Minor, insignificant and have been closed- either long ago or more recently with small pieces of archival tape. Most often these splits are trivial and easy to overlook visually. Basically, they would not significantly affect the piece adversely. The item is offered as seen. Please look carefully and make your decision knowing this antique image is nice. But it is not in perfect"like new" condition. Antique Globe 1891 Rand McNally American Globe and School Supply Metal Base Rare
This is a an antique globe. Made using Rand McNally gores(maps) And produced for the American Globe and School Supply Company. Copyright 1891 by Rand McNally. 8" diameter; 14" tall. Appears to have been used in a schoolhouse. And shows the resultant wear. Maps are soiled and yellowed- could probably be cleaned by a conservator, but I will not attempt any repairs. Some paper loss, and one area of significant dark soiling. See photos. Mounted on a nice, solid, cast metal base- silver in color, so probably not cast iron, which I'm guessing would have been painted. In& Dated Antiques For your consideration is this really neat old Rand McNally& Co.s New Ideal State& County Survey and Atlas. The book is a dark green. With fabric covered hardback binding. The fabric has some issues, with stains and wear and the spine is not intact, though most of the pages still are. We believe all of the pages, including all colored maps remain in the book. This is an atlas that focuses on the state of Missouri, with an additional focus on Livingston County. The book was copyrighted in 1913 and its initial price was $5.00. The book is 11 5/8" x 14 3/8, has 154+ pages, and at least two fold out maps, one of Missouri, one of the world. The colors on the maps are still beautifully bright and the maps are in very good condition, with only some wear on some edges and the folded maps have some extra fold marks, ... morebut are still in good condition. This is a very detailed Rand McNally pocket map of"New Europe" showing all new boundries after WWI. Has a summary of the Peace Treaty. The booklet is about 4 1/2" x 7" When fully opened it measures 27" x 26" The cover also says explanation of United States Mandatories. The New Republics, The Territories in Dispute and other important points. Made by Rand-McNally circa 1920. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in June 1919. It's in very good condition- see pictures. This auction is for an antique copy of a map from an atlas copyright 1901 by Rand McNally. It is a map of the state of Vermont. With the counties in different colors. This is Vermont as it was known well over 100 years ago! Page measures approx 13.5" x 10.5" and is in overall good condition. Edge on one side is rough where it was torn out of the book, and there are a couple very small stains& creases. Page isn't bright white, but is more of an antiqued white, and would look great framed and matted as a wall hanging! I am listing several other antique maps like this one.
