Offered is this rare vintage 12" world globe. Rand McNally's"Terrestrial Art Globe" made in 1940. Reflecting the world as it was during the early stages of World War II. It shows a large Germany. With no Austria or Czechoslovakia; Italian East Africa. With no Ethiopia; the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo; Korea labeled as" Chosen" and occupied by Japan and an independent Tibet. Perhaps the strangest of all. The nation of"Tannu Tuva" is depicted(between Mongolia and the USSR) Even though it was not recognized as independent by anyone other than Mongolia and the USSR! I know that collectively that's a lot of damage. Still. This is a very interesting piece of history and not easy to find! I found one Internet sale of an identical globe with a fancier base for $500. Rand McNally Birds-eye View of the Columbian Exposition
This print is an exceptional reproduction of the best birdseye view of the Colombian Exposition. It was made by RAND McNally and there are coordinates all around the periphery and 170 buildings listed at the bottom with their coordinates. The colors are vibrant and it is a wonderful item to have if you are Colombian Exposition collector. If this print was original you have to pay approximately $3500-$5000 for a copy in as good condition as this one is. Even if you wanted to buy the original there are probably none for sale. I haven't seen one for sale and at least 10 to 15 years. It is beautifully framed and if you look at the last picture you will see that there's a horizontal crack in the glass. It is very small and is so close to the border of the frame that is unnoticeable. Of course it would be easy to replace the glass if you ... moredesire to. I am starting this item less than the cost to frame it so in effect you would be getting the print for nothing. While there are other small Birdseye views that you can obtain from books. This is a vintage poster or map of Bermuda that was printed by Rand McNally in the 1950’s for the Bermuda Trade Development Board. The map is 16 ½ by 36 ½ inches. These are pretty scarce. The colors are quite vibrant. There is a small amount of loss on the bottom edge. There is some white buildup near the bottom right edge. There are two little tears of less than one half inch each along the right edge. The map will be mailed in a tube.

PAper on globe is in very good condition for age- see photos. I saw no scrapes in paper and only a couple little light colored spots- a couple are almost into paper. Weight is about 7 pounds with no packing. Selling"as found" with no attempt to clean or restore. I use EMI for overseas as some countries have no other options. 1974 Rand McNally "The International Atlas"
This big beautiful hard bound International Atlas is 15" x 11-1/4" x 1-1/2" and has 221 pages. I would say this is in good condition with some wear on the cover. The binding is a little loose but there are no missing or torn pages and no writing on any of the pages. The world has changed some since this was published 39 years ago. If you love maps like I do. This is a 1943 vintage Rand McNally War- Planning Map. Map of the World includes strategic battle areas& large-scale maps of Europe. Mediterranean Area- The Far East. Map is on 3/16" heavy cardboard, Folded size is about 13" X 20.5" Overall size is 41" X 26" Included are an uncut sheet of adhesive back flags for making map pins and printed, Significant Dates in Global War Strategy, Issued by the Cartographic division.Condition is good plus with bumped corners and splits in paper along some folds, most notably the latitudinal mid-seam. In spite of splits, map holds together well.
