A city surveyor, published the 350+ page official Fort Worth Plat Map set. It included 344 highly detailed, four pages of Guide Maps which provide a numbered index to the map pages and five Index pages which help locate plats and subdivisions. All ... moreare on are on large 11" x 14" pages. This 86 year old 1924 volume is now very scarce with only a few known copies in existence. One of those copies is in The Electric Books Collection and was used for this compilation. This map set has been used constantly for our personal research for many years. When an historical question arises that concerns Fort Worth in the 1920's it is one of the most valuable tools available. It's content includes accurate information on street locations and names. Railroad lines, interurban and streetcar or trolley routes, the locations of public faculties like the courthouse and a host of other information, much of it not shown on other contemporary maps. Up for sale is a brand new never opened National Parks Guide with color maps and a visit record. In addition to other features. It is probably 6-10 years old, but it has never been opened so it is essentially brand new. It is full grain hide leather and has gold foil edges to the pages. On the back it does have stamped"Rocky Mountain National Park" but I am pretty sure it has maps, etc. for all of or many of the US National Parks. I believe it was just purchased in the Rockies. Up for auction is an original"The Popular Atlas of the World" published in 1892 By Mast Crowell& Kirkpatrick from 927 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia Pa& Sprinfield Ohio. Atlas is filled with original old colorful maps. State historical data, Country historical data and statistics, Population data, etc. Condition is poor with the cover separated. Exterior spine missing, damage to some pages, and browning/toning to edges. Atlas does appear to be complete and is approx 220 pages- the vast majority of the pages are intact, but many of the first are separated from the spine. The foremost French military academy originally established by Napoleon in 1803 and known as the"West Point of France" There is in fact little related to military issues in these maps- the volume is in reality a handsomely produced general world atlas, with some of the chromolithograph maps being quite beautiful. We begin our survey of the atlas with the political map of Europe as it was constituted in 1878 with the influence of the Austro-Hungarian Empire(pink) and Bismarck's Germany(yellow) evident. Note attractive use of bold full wash lithographic colour: In this detail view from the Africa continent ... moremap we see much of the interior still unknown and with the Lakes Region still somewhat confused and tentative. Notations of the explorations of Livingstone. Speke, Stanley, Burton and others are presented in red with dates thereof: Western United States circa 1878: Taking a closer look the map above.
