A Very Good cond. original 1875 map of BENTON County. Iowa, disbound from the excellent Andreas Atlas of that year. Map is hand-tinted yellow. Very lightest of edgewear, does not penetrate to or through decorative border(see photo. Verso shows hand-tinted plan views of Vinton, Belle Plaine& Blairstown(all of Benton County, and Nevada(Story County. Very lightest of soiling. Approx. 13" x 16" dec border to dec border. Great detail. Beautiful when matted& framed. Low minimum, no reserve, quick shipping. Please contact me before purchase for international shipping info, or with any questions. Antique pocket sized map book'DAILY MAIL MILESTONE MOTOR MAPS IN 12 SECTIONS FOR MOTORISTS. CYCLISTS AND GOLFERS, 2' by george philip and son ltd. double paged maps of certain road areas around the liverpool, manchester area, showing the main motoring roads, information on towns in the area, lists of hotels, lists of golf courses, and blank touring record sections in the back to keep a record of the journey. Cant find a publication date on it, but would guess it as around 1910, due to the art nouveau decorations on the front cover. There is some general wear, mainly to the cover and edges of the pages, some slight age browning in places, but otherwise in a good condition.

This one has lots of marks on the outer covers. The San Carlos map is compliments of the chamber of commerce, which was published by the Redwood City Tribune. The map is 45.5cm x 38cm and comes unframed The perfect Present for those with a love of local History. A Little Bit About Robert Morden(c.1650-1703) was a British bookseller, publisher, and maker of maps and globes. He was among the first successful commercial map makers. Between about 1675 and his death in 1703, he was based under the sign of the Atlas at premises in Cornhill and New Cheapside, London. His cartographical output was large and varied. His best known maps are those of South Wales, North Wales and the English Counties first published in a new edition of Camden's"Britannia" in 1695, and subsequently reissued in 1722, 1753 and ... more1772. These maps were based on new information from gentlemen of each county, and were newly engraved. Each had a decorated cartouche, and showed numerous place names[1] Morden also produced in 1701 a series of smaller county maps often known as Miniature Mordens. In 1695 he published a map of Scotland. It is in parts(e.g. Skye and the Western Isles) essentially a copy of the 1654 map done by Robert Gordon of Straloch, published by Joan Blaeu; other parts show evidence of more accurate cartography. He published a new map of the Tamil homeland, Coylot Wanees Country, in 17th century Ceylon island. He is also known for several very rare early maps of the British colonies in North America, which are now among the earliest and most sought after maps for collectors of old American maps.
