It also appears that something was removed between the index and the first plate, likely a map of the entire area covered by the atlas. It measures about 24 1/4” x 18 1/2”, with each two page map measuring approximately 34” x 23 3/4”. Insurance and signature confirmation included on domestic shipping charges. Please view all 24 photos to help judge condition. There are a couple of tears to the title page and preceding blank, maps have some toning around the edges, but are in good condition overall.

Up for sale is a rare and large original Atlas/Map of Part of the historic Upper Part of The 2nd Ward of Queens. New York 1927. It measures 20 x 27 1/2. It is on linen and in Ex/Ex+ condition. Map covers from 23rd Ave to 31st Ave and Ericson Street to Flushing Bay. The roman numerals indicate how many stories each building is and each color represents the type of structure. Yellow is wood. Brown is stone, pink is brick. The Xs through the buildings indicate it is a barn or stable. The brown streets indicate cobblestone while green indicates macadamized pavement and white means it is unpaved. And the light green lines on the map show who the first recorded and original landowners were as well as the original streets. I am selling my collection of rare Brooklyn maps. 1904 Longmans New York "New School Atlas" 40 Tabbed Indexed Color Litho Maps
Here is a scare hardbound early 20th Century school atlas entitled. Longmans New School Atlas" published in 1904 by Longmans. Green, and Co. London, New York, and Bombay. This atlas was published by Longmans New York office. Located then on Fifth Avenue. The title page indicates that this atlas is Longmans New Edition. And there is no information to indicate that there was an earlier edition. I assume that this edition if a First Edition of the first American published Longmans School Atlas. If you know otherwise. Please let me know and I will update this listing. The book contains 40 full color maps. The maps are all tabbed and indexed along the pages. There is no narrative or prose in this atlas. Other than the List of Maps. Preface, and Title Page. The back of ths sheets on which the maps are printed are blank. The maps appear to ... morebe lithographs to my eye. But I could be mistaken; nothing is said about the printing process. This an attractively bound book in a nice size and color. It comes in a beautiful crimson red and each sheet. Or page, is 7" x 11 1/4" Since there is no narration in the book. This atlas is more of an anthology. All the maps are very detailed with precise and technically skillfull cartography. It is difficult to say what level of eduction this atlas was intended for. But I would say high school at the time it was published- in other words, it might be appropriate for Masters or PhD candidates today! When the book is closed. It looks similar in size and design. If not color, to an accounting ledger. Almost all of the maps are printed on two pages, so when you view a map. It is printed on the left and right sides of the open pages. A few of the maps are double fold-outs. With a third page printed. The book has some issues with I feel are not too bad and do not detract from the general appearance of the book or its use. NYC New York Central heavyweight coach HO Branchline RTR / Atlas Master Line
Before Atlas took over Branchline and reissued these same cars. And when Branchline factory assembled NYC coaches were unavailable, I bought Burlington RTR coaches for repainting to NYC. This is one of them. now surplus to my diorama. Structurally it is like-new, never run and in factory box. Issues with the finish: slight roughness where I sanded"Burlington" and car# off before repainting the entire car; also, I masked the windows using Mask-it EASY(a liquid masking film) but this was hard to remove and plastic windows got scratched. At a distance these flaws largely disappear. The new Atlas Master Line version costs over $60. Car body is 10-1/8" long, for approx 77' prototype. No return unless not as described, shipped back within four business days, and at buyer's expense. I do not know about what the box calls"optional ... moredetail parts; in any case, no additional items are included in this sale.

This New York State tumbler is a Hazel Atlas Turquoise Blue Platonite 5” tall. 10 oz. tapered shell, with beaded rim, designed by Gay Fad. It features a state map highlighting major cities and accented with wonderful cartoon type characters all in gold on a pastel turquoise blue background. It is in fantastic vintage condition, clean, gold is shiny, paint is strong. It has no chips, cracks, scratches or stains.
