Published by Volk und Wissen Verlag of Leipzig. I couldn't find a printed date, but believe it dates to 1957-1967. Heading reads"Bergbau-und Industriegebiete der Erde. which roughly translates to"mining and industrial sites. Of the world. Map shows centers of steel production and other heavy industry at a scale of 1:15.000,000. Map is on heavy paper backed with linen and mounted between two wooden dowels. The map itself is just over 8' wide and about 4 1/2' tall. Dowels are 101" long. Overall condition is good. With various folds, creases, minor discoloration and other signs of use and age visible. The poster has spent recent ... moreyears rolled up in storage. No repairs have been made. The main area in the center of the map is generally clean and unblemished. The upper corners have some water-staining and creasing. The exposed edges have chipping and cracking. A few inches of the upper right corner of the map have come loose from the dowel, as has a section in the middle, where a sliver of white paper shows through. There is a large 4 page Mining Claim with 6 Mexican Revenue Stamps on the front Page. On a form signed by the President of Mexico Porfirio Diaz and other Mexican Officials. in 1907 and 1908. The document measures about 11 1/2" x 17" and has been folded. There is a hand drawn map of the location of the Mine. It measures about 16 1/4" x 17" and is printed on an acetate type paper. Vintage 1938 Cripple Creek mining district book map
You are bidding on an old map that I found in with a bunch of other maps in a tube from an estate sale in Montrose Co. I have no other info on it other it is in excellent condition. It is printed on very heavy paper. In black ink. It is kind of crinkly from the way it was poorly rolled in the tube. There is a very slight water damage that is almost not visable. The map shows the town of Cripple Creek and Victor. WEith all of the different mine tunnels and their names and the roads also.
