And although not perfectly smooth, is in nice condition(see images above) It was removed from a large NGS Atlas Folio collection of maps. The maps were folded in the center and adhered at the spine of the folio with water soluble hinges. The folio from which this map was removed was 19 1/2 x 14 inches and is shown above for reference only. It is NOT included with this item. M aps were originally shipped folded before they were placed in the folio. Therefore there are light creases at the folds similar to maps received with NGS magazines. t.

Free Shipping on Purchases of 5 or More Maps and Prints Description: It is an authentic Antique map from a 1930 edition of George Clason's Motor Atlas: Showing U.S. Highways. Paved Roads, Mileage, Index of Towns, designed and published in Denver and Chicago by the Clason Map and Publishing Company. Although there were some earlier regional automobile touring books. Often with more text than maps, Clason is noted as publishing the first nationwide Auto Touring Atlas in 1923, in the format as we basically know it today. Clason continued to publish his auto atlases until 1931 when the business folded during the Great Depression. There is a copyright of 1830 on the title page. ... moreA facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The towns are indexed in the margins with populations. The map is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic with a centerfold as issued. A very nice early auto touring map that would frame up nicely for the antique car enthusiast or maybe great for a road trip if you can still find the routes, like Route 66. There are two maps printed back to back on one sheet so you would have to choose one side if framing. Size: The map image measures approximately 11 by 14 inches on a 12 by 16 1/4" page with a margin all around for matting as seen in the pic. Condition: It is in Good condition for its age with overall very light tonal ageing and a centerfold as issued. Basically as seen in the pics. There is some edgewear, short edge tears, bent corners and a couple of binding holes along the fold, the paper is very flexible and clean with a rich antique appearance as desired, see the pics for more on the condition.
