Martin Miller, The World-Renowned Traveler and Author, Superbly Illustrated, among other things. Map actually takes up two full pages, for a total of 16 1/4" x 22 1/4” with viewing area being approximately 14 1/2" x 19 1/2" This map has all of South America ... moreon one side and miscellaneous information on the flip side. Scale is 1 inch equals about 240 miles. Map has an index of Principal Divisions of South America with Area and Population and shows Capitals of Countries, Capitals of States, Railroads, and Telegraph Lines. Also shows the proposed location of the Intercontinental Railway. This map has an inset of the Republic of Panama, scale of 1 inch equals about 12 miles; and an inset of the Galapagos Islands. All pages are slightly yellowed from age but map colors are bright and clear. Page has a small tear in the top margin and a small tear in the bottom margin, both being about 1/4 inch long and easily taped from the back side; otherwise, it is in extremely good condition! 1905 Adirondack Forest Map NY Forest Fish & Game Commission
This is a Nice Forest. Fish& Game Commission Map of the Adirondack Forest and Adjoining Territory that dates from 1905. It was printed by: J.B. Lyon who was the printer for New York State at the time. It measures about 4' 22" wide x 5' 8" high when all four pieces are placed together. The Red Folder measures 9" x 5 5/8" when closed. Measurements are approximate because I may not have had all four pieces perfectly lined up when I measured it. This was challenging to measure and the wind blew up a piece of the center at the time I photographed it. This map would look nice mounted on a nice piece of white linen for display.
