This is a great vintage Aloha Airlines travel/ over night/ carry on bag that is still in great shape and not to many of these guys around. Bag was hardly used. But info is filled in on the bottom, has carry handles and shoulder strap that is removable, in a great orange color with fun floral design! Good working zipper and pouch on the out side, measures close to 16 by 13 by 6 inches not counting handles or strap. Plus i am throwing in a free vintage wooden Hawaiian Calender, it's really cool, there are little wood blocks that say date, month, and day and it's in hawaiian also all in gold and they fit in a neat little wooden holder that say's Aloha Hawaii. Here is a Series 1934-A $5 note. World War II Emergency issue for Hawaii. Overprinted HAWAII twice vertically across the face. And large horizontal H A W A I I across the back. Brown serial numbers and seal. Nice attractive collector grade note! The U.S. Fearful after the Pearl Harbor attack that the Japanese would invade and seize the Hawaiian Islands, issued a decree requiring the removal of all U.S. currency from the Islands and its replacement with special $1, $5, $10 and $20 notes, with brown serial numbers and seals, overprinted HAWAII. These notes were the only currency legal tender in the Islands from mid-1942. The idea was that if the Japanese seized the Islands, all of the Brown seal HAWAII notes could be declared worthless and the Japanese would not get any financial benefit. However, this invasion did not come to pass. The HAWAII ... morenotes were the only notes circulating in Hawaii and the Pacific until mid 1944. Most US troops serving in the Pacific Theater of war were paid in these HAWAII notes. After the war. They were gradually withdrawn from circulation and destroyed. Serial# L46466108A. Treasury signatures of Julian and Morgenthau. The $5 notes are the SCARCEST of the four types, as $5 bills tended to be the most circulated. And the fewest that survived in nice condition. It is just plain HARD to find these in problem-free, attractive collector grades! A nice attractive and problem-free note. Some minor folds and circulation handling. But NO pinholes.
