A metal time dial at the top. This globe sits on two twin bronze atlas's holding the globe on their shoulders. The atlas's are screwed onto a walnut wood shelf. This shelf has an opening for a book. The book that's with this globe is. Hammond Citation World Atlas. printed in USA in 1987. This globe measures 38" round which I believe makes this a 12" circumference globe. It is only about 1/2" thick. And slightly yellowed, but the maps are great and there is even a list of the important cities of each state and their population according to the most recent census of the day. The binding is a bit fragile, but it is a great addition to your vintage book/atlas collection.

The total size of the two pages measures approximately 13 1/8” x 9 ¼” While the map itself, varies in size somewhat, but generally measures approximately 11” x 8 3/8” The map itself is dated somewhere in the ten-year period prior to publication of the atlas. Of the 62 map listings. 58 of them are made up of a two-page map that was center-bound in the atlas. This means that the maps are in two-parts. For ... moredisplay purposes they require that the un-illustrated portion near the center-binding be cut away from both pages. This will bring the two halves of the map into alignment. In some cases there is staining on the map pages. Most of that takes place in the border area, but it does impact some maps. The map of Ireland has a significant tear at the top which. Hammond's New Supreme World Atlas 1953 Hardcover
This book is mostly great condition. The binding is starting to pull apart slightly. But still very sturdy. Also, if you notice in the picture, there is a slight discoloration along the outside and lower edge of the front cover. It may have gotten wet a some point, but there is no warping, only a slight raised feel when you run your fingers across. All money goes directly to Hope House Home for Children in Marsing. ID. We have 34 youth from failed adoptions, ranging from ages 10-18, and about 20 adult residents in our assisted living care.

1956 Hammond World Atlas-Classics Edition *with matching protective box
One of a kind. Excellent condition, vintage piece. The book itself is an almost pristine condition, the leather cover has had a clear plastic between it and its protective box so it's in perfect condition. The pages are almost the same, with sharp corners and beautiful gold painted edges. The protective boxC shows some signs of wear but is covered with a psychedelic pattern that matches the inside liner pages of the book itself. In my research of this book I found nothing like it anywhere on the web, and none in the condition that this book is in, it is truly a one of a kind item.

The spine of the book is loose but all pages have stayed together in the binding. Also in the book are some papers from the Clarksburg Telegram from Clarksburg. WV. The previous owner saved this section on the Middle East War. There is a list of names of troops that were overseas from that area. There is a one page advertisement that has the troops' names and a map of the Middle East at that time. The date of the paper is February 13, 1991.
