The maps each cover the same area. Until the 1840s Beckton was"a marshy waste. A notorious venue for illegal prize-fighting" writes author Stephen Pewsey, and these maps still show an area with few inhabitants. The principal feature of these maps is the vast Gas Works of the Gas Light& Coke Company, shown here with all its many railway sidings, and adjacent to a large Tar& Liquor Works. The Northern Outfall Sewer runs across the map, as does the GER Beckton Branch, with its Beckton station. Other features include the group of streets known as Cyprus, a section of the Royal Albert Docks Railway, St Michael& All Angels church, and the group of houses known as Roman Road. The 1894 map also includes a section of Essex Sheet 73.16, which takes coverage northward across the marshes, up High Street South, Gooseley Lane and Claps Gate Lane. Up for auction is a vintage Gem#40 Wotherspoon gas parlor heater. This heater has 12 faceted jewels. 3 on each heater tube. It is in very good condition but is missing the front plate that says Gem. It has a nice patina on it. It measures 18" tall, 13" wide and is approximately 6" deep. It seems to be in working order, very restorable condition if you were going to put it to use in a home. Old 1920's JI Case Pocket Ledger Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Crossmotor Tractor
This is a really neat original Machinery Operators Account Book from the JI Case Threshing Machine Company. It measures about 4 x 6 1/4 inches and has about 30 pages. It is in decent used condition with soiling and smudges that can be expected on something that is almost 100 years old. The inside pages have accounts recorded where 800 bushels of oats were threshed for 3 cents per bushel. There are lots of neat little pages like this and most of them are dated 1925. The back cover lists all of the branch houses in North America. The inside of it lists all of the equipment that JI Case offered including three sizes of kerosene tractors. Road rollers, skid engines, threshing machines, steam tractors, baling presses, silo fillers, rock crushers, Grand Detour plows, disks, and horse drawn implements. This is a Dynapac model LF82 vibratory plate compactor with a pull-start Honda GX160 5.5hp gasoline engine. I had the carburetor replaced on 9/1 5/11 and the unit run s well. I used it recently to tamp down an area for a backyard patio. The unit propels itself forward slowly when running. So you have to pull back on the handle a bit to hold it in place, but it's easy to manage with the included aluminum handle. The compactor weigh s 180lbs. overall. And generates 4000 pounds of tamping force. The plate is heavy steel, 18 inches wide, and 21.25 inches long. Eagle Gas Can, 1 1/4 gallon, old style spout
This item is a used Eagle Plastic Gas Can with the old style spout. 1 1/4 gallon(4.73 liters) It is model PG-1. The can is in nice condition, clean inside and out. The outside of the can has some surface scratches from use. It has the caps on the vent and on the end of the pour nozzle. The nozzle has a screen in it. This is a great can overall.

Vintage Chilton P20 Vented Vintage Gas 2 Gallon Can/Jug gasoline fuel spout vent
This is a REALLY NICE gas can. It comes complete with the vent which is still on its tether. Its cap, as well as its spout and the screen is fully intact. It looks virtually like new and is clean as a whistle inside and out. The only other than terrific thing I noticed is the tether on the spout cap in photo 4 has some stress marks near where it attaches to the spout. If you want a really nice 2 gallon gas can of the old vintage style. This is a super find. I have other gas cans for sale as well you might want to check out.

Up for auction is this great VINTAGE Acme No 6 rubber gas mask with glass eye openings. It comes with a canister. As shown(I have no idea if it has anything in it, but the plug looks to be intact) What's really cool is the original carrying case for this set, which measures 15 1/2" by 8" and 5" deep. Old Lunkenheimer Mockingbird 5 Inch Steam Whistle Hit Miss Gas Engine Tractor
This is a pretty nice original and VERY hard to find Lunkenheimer 5 inch Mockingbird steam whistle. It seems to be in good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is a rather large whistle and is about 26 inches long overall. It is marked with the Lunkenheimer name and has a patent date on the other side of the body. The slide moves freely. This whistle has 1 1/2 inch pipe threads. The dome is in great shape with only a few very minor dings. I believe this whistle could be plumbed up to steam or compressed air and used just the way it is. Both the slide and the valve have short cables attached to use it. These larger mockingbird whistles are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and really turn some heads when they are polished up and displayed at the shows!
